The Kingfisher Police Department has investigated or responded to the following reports:

February 3 - Obstructing officer, speeding- posted zone, no valid driver’s license and failure to show insurance.

Officer Christopher Mc-Daniel said in his report that he observed a northbound vehicle on U.S. 81 that was traveling at a speed over the posted speed limit and initiated a traffic stop.

According to the report, the 22-year-old male driver didn’t stop immediately and proceeded to his residence before stopping the vehicle.

McDaniel said in his report the subject then exited the vehicle and refused the officer’s commands to come toward him, stating that “he was already at his house” and began taking a step toward the house.

According to the report, McDaniel attempted to subdue the suspect, but he continued to resist arrest until the officer threatened to tase the subject.

McDaniel said in his report that he also detected the odor of alcohol on the subject.

Officer Derek Grassman arrived on the scene and the subject was placed under arrest and transported to the Kingfisher County Criminal Justice Center.

The vehicle was inventoried and impounded, the report said.

Officers later determined that the suspect was in possession of a fraudulent permanent resident card and Social Security card, which the suspect also confirmed were fraudulent, according to the report.

Corporal Aaron Schlegel assisted with the investigation.

February 7 - Unlawful possession of a controlled dangerous substance.

Officer Kyle Svoboda said in his report that he was on patrol when he observed a southbound vehicle on U.S. 81 with an obscured license plate, inoperable tag lights, fluids leaking from the back hatch and swerving in its lane.

According to the report, Svoboda initiated a traffic stop and determined the leaking fluids were coming from a large commercial A/C unit in the back hatch and the 46-year-old male driver was operating the vehicle without insurance.

Svoboda issued the driver a warning for improper equipment and a citation for failure to comply with compulsory insurance, according to the report.

Svoboda informed the driver that he was impounding the vehicle and, upon an inventory of the vehicle, a small clear baggie with white crystal-like residue in it was located which field tested positive for methamphetamine, the report said.

The suspect was placed under arrest for possession of a controlled dangerous substance - methamphetamine and transported to the Kingfisher County Criminal Justice Center.

Sergeant Charles Trout and Officer Steven Renbarger assisted with the investigation.

February 7 - Driving with license canceled/ suspended/revoked and unlawful possession of a controlled dangerous substance.

Corporal Aaron Schlegel said in his report that he observed a southbound vehicle on U.S. 81 traveling without the headlights illuminated.

According to the report, the 40-year-old male driver was determined to be driving without a valid driver’s license and also had a warrant out of Kay County.

The suspect was placed under arrest for driving with a suspended driver’s license and, upon a search of the suspect, two partial straws with a white/yellow substance were located in the suspect’s pocket, the report said.

A field test for methamphetamine was performed on the straws, but was inconclusive and the evidence was sent to OSBI for further testing, according to the report.

A 37-year-old female passenger was also determined to have a hydrocodone pill without proof of a prescription and was informed by the officer that a case would be filed with the district attorney and a warrant could be issued for her arrest, the report said.

An inventory was performed on the vehicle and it was impounded.
