Kingfisher Police Department investigates reports

The Kingfisher Police Department has investigated or responded to the following reports:

December 24 - Possession of dangerous drugs prohibited-marijuana.

Officer Tyler Girten said in his report that he observed a vehicle with a defective tag light in the area of U.S. 81 and Bowman Avenue and initiated a traffic stop.

According to the report, the 34-year-old male driver was questioned regarding possession of any illegal drugs and he said he had marijuana in the vehicle.

Officers searched the vehicle and located a black THC pen as well as a container with a green leafy substance in it, the report said.

A field test was performed on the green leafy substance and was positive for marijuana, according to the report.

The evidence was seized and photographed and the suspect was issued a citation for possession of marijuana, the report said.

Sergeant Charles Trout and Officer Christopher McDaniel assisted with the investigation.

December 24 - Leaving scene of accident.

Officer Aaron Schlegel took a report of property damage to a vehicle in the 1000 block of South Eighth Street.

Adam Click reportedly stated his 2003 Toyota Camry was parked along the curb on South Eighth Street and he discovered damage to the back driver’s side bumper.

Click suspected the damage had occurred on Dec. 24 from 4 p.m. to 4:45 p.m., according to the report.

Schlegel said in his report he suspected the damage may have occurred from a vehicle backing out of the driveway of a residence on South Eighth Street.

According to the report, Schlegel made contact with the owner of the residence regarding the incident.

December 26 - Speeding and no driver’s license.

Officer Brandon Chapman observed a Chevrolet Tahoe traveling at a high rate of speed on U.S. 81 near Overstreet Avenue and initiated a traffic stop.

According to the report, the 26-year-old male driver was driving without a valid driver’s license.

Chapman said in his report that he placed the suspect under arrest for driving without a driver’s license and speeding over the posted limit.

The suspect was transported to the Kingfisher County Criminal Justice Center and the vehicle was inventoried and impounded, according to the report.

Officer Tyler Girten assisted with the investigation.

December 28 - Speeding and no driver’s license.

Officer Jeffrey Robbins observed a GMC Sierra traveling at a high rate of speed on U.S. 81 near Hill Drive and initiated a traffic stop.

According to the report, the 21-year-old male suspect was driving without a valid driver’s license.

Robbins said in his report that he placed the suspect under arrest for driving without a valid license and speeding over the posted limit.

The suspect was transported to the Kingfisher County Criminal Justice Center and the vehicle was inventoried and impounded, according to the report.

Officer Brandon Chapman assisted with the investigation.

December 30 - Larceny of merchandise from retailer.

Officer Matthew Hollon responded to a report of theft at Walmart, 200 W. Starlite Drive.

According to the report, a Walmart associate informed the officer that on the previous day a known 36-yearold female attempted to return an LED strip light which she had purchased on a credit card.

A credit was refunded to her credit card, but the suspect wanted cash and left the store with the merchandise although the return had been completed, the report said.

The amount of the return credited to her card was $21.72, according to the report.

Officer Justin Conner assisted with the investigation.

January 4 - Theft of motor vehicle.

Officer Ryan Gibson responded to a report of a stolen vehicle at Johnsons of Kingfisher, 1801 S. Main St.

According to the report, a Johnsons representative said a 2014 Dodge 3500 Crew Cab was stolen from the dealership on Dec. 26.

The representative reviewed surveillance footage and was unable to observe the incident, the report said.

Gibson entered the vehicle identifying information into the National Crime Information Center.

January 6 - Leaving scene of accident involving damage.

Officer Matthew Hollow responded to a report of property damage to a vehicle at United Supermarket, 1215 S. Main St.

Aaron Ruffin reportedly stated his vehicle had been damaged while in the United Supermarket parking lot.

Hollon said in his report that he observed a large dent in the rear quarter panel of Ruffin’s vehicle and reviewed security footage of the incident.

According to the report, officers observed a known 49-year-old female driver get into a Ford F-150 and, while backing out of a parking space, strike Ruffin’s vehicle in the driver’s side then leave the scene.

Officers made contact with the suspect regarding the incident and observed damage to the suspect’s vehicle which was photographed as evidence, the report said.

Hollon also photographed the damage to Ruffin’s vehicle, according to the report.
