The Kingfisher Police Department has investigated or responded to the following reports:

August 6 - Larceny of merchandise from retailer.

Officer Aaron Schlegel responded to a report of theft at Pink Zebra, 124 N. Main St.

Sharon Shepard reportedly stated two females had stolen several items of clothing from her store. Shepard was able to identify one of the suspects from a 2020 news article regarding the suspect’s alleged involvement in previous thefts as well as a theft that occurred at Angelita’s last year.

The reported total value of the clothing was $95.

On Aug. 10, Shepard contacted the police department stating the suspects were observed at Atwoods, the report said.

Officer Justin Trumbley made contact with the 50-year-old and 36-yearold female suspects, according to the report.

The 50-year-old female reportedly admitted to taking a pair of shorts from Pink Zebra as well as involvement in other thefts.

Captain Travis Gray and Officer Jason East assisted with the investigation.

August 7 - Leaving the scene of accident.

Officer Justin Conner responded to a report of an accident and the driver leaving the scene.

According to the report, a 45-year-old female driver struck a pole at Stop-N-Go, 1005 S. Main St. and left the scene walking westbound.

Conner obtained a photograph of the suspect from surveillance video and performed an inventory of the vehicle, according to the report.

Officer Ryan Gibson took photographs of the vehicle and the vehicle was impounded.

Conner said in his report that while performing inventory of the vehicle, he obtained the owner’s information and made contact with him regarding the incident.

According to the report, the owner stated his girlfriend was driving the vehicle and he gave officers information regarding her identity.

The following day, Aug. 8, Conner was dispatched to Payless Inn, 2300 Frontage Road, in response to a female requiring medical attention and he identified the individual as the suspect who fled the scene at Stop-N-Go the previous day, the report said.

The suspect was transported by Kingfisher EMS to Mercy Hospital Kingfisher for evaluation.

August 11 - Leaving the scene of accident involving damage and leaving scene of accident involving injury.

Officer Ryan Gibson responded to a report of an accident and fleeing the scene at Casey’s General

Store, 102 S. Main St.

According to the report, employees stated a vehicle was exiting the fuel pumps and struck a pole. The driver exited the vehicle to examine the damage and the truck rolled backwards striking him in the legs according to witnesses at the scene, the report said. The driver then returned to his vehicle and fled the scene, according to the report.

Gibson requested video surveillance of the incident and an estimate for damage to the pole.

August 11 - Public intoxication, larceny of merchandise from retailer and receiving/possessing/concealing stolen property.

Officer Aaron Schlegel responded to a report of an individual causing a disturbance while riding a bicycle in the Atwoods parking lot, 1213 S. Main St.

Schlegel said in his report that he located the suspect on the north side of Atwoods and questioned the 54-year-old male suspect regarding his involvement in harassing customers in the parking lot.

According to the report, the individual exhibited signs of intoxication and also admitted to drinking alcohol.

While questioning the suspect, Schlegel observed he was wearing new moccasin style shoes with the security tab still attached, the report said.

The Atwoods manager reportedly stated the suspect had been in the store and verified the shoes were stolen.

Officers took photographs of the shoes and secured the suspect’s bicycle, according to the report. The reported value of the shoes was $114.99.

Schlegel placed the individual under arrest for public intoxication, larceny from a retailer and knowingly concealing stolen property.

Officers transported the suspect to Mercy Hospital Kingfisher, where he was evaluated and medically cleared for incarceration, the report said.

The suspect was transported to the Kingfisher County Criminal Justice Center.

Officers Justin Conner, Justin Trumbley and Jason East assisted with the investigation.

August 11 - Theft of motor vehicle, burglary-second degree and pattern of criminal offenses.

Captain Travis Gray responded to a report of a stolen vehicle on Meadowlark Lane.

Jose Torrez reportedly stated his 2014 Ford F-150 was stolen from his driveway overnight.

Officer Dustin Brodrick took a report the same morning from Torrez’s neighbors, Richard and Whitney Mathes regarding a 2015 Chrysler and 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe being burglarized overnight, the report said.

Items stolen from the Mathes’ vehicles included vehicle and house keys and a debit card, according to the report.

Unauthorized charges were made at several convenience stores in the Oklahoma City metropolitan area totaling $237.52, the report said.

According to the report, officers were able to identify the 34-year-old male suspect from surveillance video as well as other officers reported contact with the suspect in the vicinity of the theft overnight.
