Kingfisher Police Department investigating multiple reports
The Kingfisher Police Department has investigated or responded to the following reports:
July 16 - Leaving scene of accident involving damage.
Officer Aaron Schlegel took a report of property damage at U.S. 81 and Mitchell Drive.
According to the report, Phillip Anderson stated he observed two Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT) roadway signs which appeared to have been hit and were lying off the roadway.
Also lying nearby was a vehicle tag that Anderson brought to the police department, the report said.
Schlegel said in his report that he would attempt to make contact with the vehicle owner based on the information obtained from the vehicle tag.
July 16 - Possession of dangerous drugs prohibited-marijuana.
According to the report, Officer Matthew Hollon observed a vehicle with an expired temporary license plate and initiated a traffic stop in the area of South Ninth Street and West Fay Avenue.
Hollon said in his report that he made contact with the 19-year-old female driver and detected the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.
Hollon observed a small black bag in the vehicle which appeared to resemble a medical marijuana bag, the report said.
The driver reportedly admitted to possessing marijuana without a medical marijuana license and, upon further questioning by the officer, indicated additional marijuana was located in the console of the vehicle, according to the report.
Hollon said in his report that in addition to the black bag previously observed, he located a black medical marijuana bag and green medical marijuana bottle, all containing a green leafy substance.
The suspect was issued a citation for failure to pay taxes due to the state and possession of marijuana.
Officer Justin Conner assisted with the investigation.
July 16 - Driving with license canceled/suspended/revoked, possession of controlled substance, possession of dangerous drugs prohibited-marijuana, transporting open container-liquor and bringing or possessing contraband in jail or penal institution.
Officer Tyler Girten said in his report that he observed a vehicle with a defective tag light in the 1600 block of U.S. 81 and initiated a traffic stop.
According to the report, the 37-year-old male driver was driving with a suspended license and placed under arrest.
Officers performed an inventory of the vehicle and located an open bottle of Fireball cinnamon whiskey and two brown cigarettes containing a green leafy substance, the report said.
The suspect was transported to the Kingfisher County Criminal Justice Center where a corrections officer discovered a small plastic baggy containing a brown powder-like substance in the suspect’s wallet, according to the report.
The brown powder tested positive for methamphetamine and the green leafy substance in the cigarettes tested positive for marijuana, the report said.
The suspect was charged with possession of controlled dangerous substance, possession of marijuana, driving under suspension, transporting an open container and bringing contraband into a penal institution.
Officers Christopher McDaniel and Matthew Hollon assisted with the investigation.
July 20 - Driving with license canceled/suspended/revoked, expired license plates, possession of dangerous drugs prohibited-marijuana, possession of dangerous drugs prohibited and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Officer Aaron Schlegel said in his report he observed a vehicle with an expired tag in the area of S.H. 33 and 11th Street and initiated a traffic stop.
According to the report, the driver was driving with a revoked license and was placed under arrest for operating a motor vehicle while driver’s license is revoked.
Officers performed an inventory of the vehicle and discovered a pack of rolling papers, a rolling paper machine, a tube with a partial marijuana joint, a pill bottle with marijuana and numerous syringes with three syringes containing a clear liquid, the report said.
Schlegel said in his report the 55-year-old male suspect indicated the clear liquid was methamphetamine, which was later confirmed upon testing, according to the report.
The suspected marijuana was also tested and produced a positive result, the report said.
The suspect was charged with operating a motor vehicle while driver’s license is revoked, failure to pay taxes due to state, possession of marijuana, possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

July 21 - Leaving scene of accident involving damage.
Sergeant Charles Trout responded to a report of an abandoned vehicle which had crashed into a tree near the Kingfisher Fire Department.
Trout said in his report that he observed a vehicle which appeared to have been traveling southbound on U.S. 81, veered left crossing the northbound lanes, jumped the curb and struck a tree.
According to the report, blood was discovered in the driver’s seat area as well as blood droplets leading to the alleyway.
Trout also located tools and a “cut off catalytic converter” in the vehicle, the report said.
The officer took photographs at the scene and was informed that a deputy located a male and female walking on a county road just outside of town, according to the report.
Trout made contact with the 49-year-old male suspect and 38-year-old female suspect and observed an open wound on the male’s face, a bloody nose and blood on his clothing, the report said.
According to the report, Trout questioned the individuals regarding their involvement with the prior accident scene and they denied being involved.
Trout said in his report that he informed the suspects that he would be seeking a warrant for leaving the scene of an accident.
The officer collected blood samples from the scene and, after observing a fresh cup of coffee at the scene, contacted Love’s Country Store regarding possible surveillance footage of the suspects, the report said.
