Kingfisher Police Department investigating multiple reports
The Kingfisher Police Department has investigated or responded to the following reports:
July 25 - Burglary of vehicle.
Sergeant Charles Trout took a report of theft from a vehicle at Casey’s General Store, 102 S. Main St.
Timothy Kelly reportedly stated that he parked his vehicle and trailer on the south side of Casey’s and entered the store.
After leaving, Kelly said he discovered medication, tools and equipment had been stolen from the vehicle, according to the report.
Kelly also reportedly stated that he discovered a used vape cartridge in the vehicle, which did not belong to him or his coworkers.
Trout said in his report that he seized the vape cartridge as evidence and made contact with a representative at BancFirst to obtain surveillance footage of the incident.
The reported missing items included a socket and wrench set, two batteries, battery charger, drill, De-Walt grinder, battery and charger, two levels and a tape measure as well as four prescription medications.
July 29 - DUI-liquor or drugs.
According to the report, Officer Aaron Schlegel observed a vehicle with a defective brake light and initiated a traffic stop in the area of Toronto Avenue and Sixth Street.
Schlegel said in his report that he detected the odor of alcohol coming from the 60-year-old male driver and performed field sobriety tests on the suspect.
According to the report, the suspect admitted to “drinking about a pint of whiskey,” and was unable to complete field sobriety tests due to physical disabilities.
Schlegel placed the suspect under arrest for suspicion of DUI and officers searched the vehicle for open containers, the report said.
The suspect was then issued a warning for the defective brake light and a citation for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.
Schlegel transported the suspect to Mercy Hospital Kingfisher where he received clearance for incarceration and was transported to the Kingfisher County Criminal Justice Center.
Officers Dustin Brodrick and Derek Grassman assisted with the investigation.
July 30 - Larceny of merchandise from retailer.
Officer Matthew Hollon responded to a report of theft at Stop N Go, 1005 S. Main St.
According to the report, owner Sultan Raja said a male individual stole two $50 Ultimate Millions scratch off lottery tickets.
Hollon reviewed surveillance footage of the incident and a photograph of the suspect was posted on the Kingfisher Police Department’s Facebook page, the report said.
July 31 - Larceny of merchandise from retailer.
Officer Matthew Hollon responded to a report of theft at Atwoods, 1213 S. Main St.
According to the report, a male suspect left the store with merchandise which had not been purchased and fled the scene.
A Blaine County Sheriff’s deputy, who was a witness to the theft, followed the suspect to a residence and provided officers with the address, the report said.
Hollon said in his report that he went to the residence and the 39-year-old male suspect came forward carrying the stolen merchandise.
The deputy identified the suspect and Hollon informed the individual that a warrant for his arrest would be filed with the Kingfisher County District Attorney’s office, the report said.
Hollon also made contact with an Atwoods’ employee who witnessed the incident and reviewed store surveillance footage, according to the report.
The reported value of the stolen merchandise, a Milwaukee M18 FUEL Hackzall, was valued at $149.99.
