Kingfisher Police Department investigating multiple reports
The Kingfisher Police Department has investigated or responded to the following reports:
August 30 - Driving With License Canceled/ Suspended/revoked.
Officer Aaron Schlegel said in his report he observed a vehicle with an expired tag in the area of U.S. 81 and Starlite Drive and initiated a traffic stop.
According to the report, the 44-year-old male driver was driving without a valid driver’s license.
The suspect was placed under arrest for operating a motor vehicle without a valid driver’s license and issued a warning for the expired tag, the report said. The vehicle was inventoried and impounded, according to the report.
Sergeant Justin Trumbley assisted with the investigation.
September 2 - Larceny of lost property.
Officer Dustin Brodrick took a report of theft at the Athletic Loft, 309 N. Main St.
Maria Smith reportedly stated that she had left her bridal rings on the treadmill and returned weeks later asking if anyone had found them.
According to the report, Smith was informed the rings had been turned into the Athletic Loft office, but could not currently be located due to the elapsed timeframe.
The reported value of the ring set was $179.
September 2 - Driving under the influence and transporting an open container.
Officer Justin Conner said in his report that he observed a vehicle failing to maintain its lane and initiated a traffic stop.
According to the report, the 63-year-old male driver appeared to exhibit signs of intoxication and an odor of alcohol was detected.
Upon search of the vehicle, Conner located six opened cans of beer and a styrofoam cup “about one-quarter full and smelled of an alcoholic beverage,” the report said.
The suspect was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and transporting an open container.
Officer Christopher Mc-Daniel transported the suspect to the Kingfisher County Criminal Justice Center.
September 2 - Possession of dangerous drugs prohibited, possession of dangerous drugs prohibited-marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and warrant.
Officer Aaron Schlegel said in his report that he observed a known individual walking in the 200 block of West Broadway Avenue and contacted dispatch regarding possible outstanding warrants.
According to the report, dispatch confirmed the 37-year-old male suspect had an outstanding warrant in Canadian County.
As Schlegel attempted to place the suspect under arrest, a black case containing what the suspect described as “a little bit of dope and weed” fell from under his arm, the report said.
Thesuspectalsoremoved “a couple of rigs” from a backpack and handed them to the officers, according to the report.
Schlegel said in his report that he searched the individual’s backpack for other illegal items.
The suspect was placed under arrest for possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and the warrant.
Schlegel said in his report that he performed field tests on the green leafy substance as well as the white crystal-like substance and received positive marijuana and methamphetamine results, respectively.
Officer Justin Conner assisted with the investigation.
September 3 - Domestic abuse assault and battery.
Officer Aaron Schlegel responded to a report of domestic abuse in the 500 block of North Elm Street.
