The Kingfisher Police Department has investigated or responded to the following reports: November 18 - Warrant, expired license plates, no insurance, transporting open container- liquor and possession of dangerous drugs prohibited-marijuana.

According to the report, Officer Aaron Schlegel observed a southbound vehicle on South Seventh Street with a defective windshield and a passenger attempting to put on his seatbelt as the vehicle passed the officer.

Schlegel said in his report that he initiated a traffic stop and issued the 38-year-old female driver a warning for the defective windshield and a defective taillight as well as citations for taxes due to the state and no insurance.

Dispatch advised officers that both occupants had outstanding warrants in Canadian County, the report said. Upon a search of the 34-year-old male passenger, Officer Justin Conner located a partial bottle of Vodka and a marijuana joint on his person, according to the report.

Officer Justin Conner placed the male suspect under arrest for the warrant and issued district citations for failure to wear a seatbelt, transporting an open container of alcohol and possession of marijuana.

Officer Aaron Schlegel placed the female driver under arrest for the outstanding warrant and both suspects were transported to the Kingfisher County Criminal Justice Center.

According to the report, a jail staff member notified Schlegel of a partial marijuana joint located in the driver’s purse.

Schlegel said in his report that he had previously searched the suspect’s purse at the scene and had not located the marijuana, therefore he issued a district citation for the marijuana possession instead of a contraband charge.

November 21 - Larceny of merchandise from retailer and criminal trespass.

Officer Derek Grassman responded to a report of an individual trespassing at Walmart, 200 W. Starlite Drive.

According to the report, the manager stated the 61-year-old male suspect had been trespassed from Walmart property and was currently in the store and observed over surveillance video hiding merchandise on his person.

Grassman said in his report that he, along with the manager, Sergeant Justin Trumbley and Officer Matthew Hollon, observed the suspect on surveillance cameras for approximately 40 minutes and then made contact with him.

According to the report, the suspect revealed multiple items he had placed in his jacket which included two keychain flashlights, 13 pocket flashlights and two TAC 300 batteries with a total value of $46.45.

The items were returned to the manager and the suspect was escorted from the property and informed a report would be sent to the district attorney’s office regarding the incident, the report said.

November 22 - Burglary- second degree.

Officer Aaron Schlegel responded to a report of theft from a vehicle in the 700 block of South Third Street.

According to the report, Maria Del Carmen Ponce stated her vehicle had been rummaged through overnight and her wallet was missing.

The wallet was valued at $50 and the contents included approximately $140, a driver’s license, bank card and EBT card, the report said.

November 23 - Planning or threatening a violent act.

According to the report, Officer Derek Grassmann responded to a report of a threatening act in the 400 block of South Seventh Street.

Captain Travis Gray and Sergeant Justin Trumbley assisted with the investigation.

November 24 - DUI-liquor or drugs.

Officer Jarred Tech said in his report that he observed a westbound vehicle on Broadway Avenue traveling without its headlights illuminated and he initiated a traffic stop.

According to the report, the 40-year female driver appeared to exhibit signs of intoxication and refused to perform a field sobriety test.

The suspect was placed under arrest for suspicion of operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and transported to the Kingfisher County Criminal Justice Center.

Officers performed an inventory of the vehicle and it was impounded, according to the report.

Sergeant Charles Trout and Officer Christopher McDaniel assisted with the investigation.

December 1 - Assault and battery or assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, grand larceny and planning or threatening a violent act.

Sergeant Charles Trout responded to a report of a domestic altercation in the 200 block of East Fay Avenue.

December 5 - Malicious injury/destruction of property.

Officer Matthew Hollon responded to a report of vandalism in the 500 block of West Bowman Avenue.

Cassidy and Vinton Johnson reportedly stated they observed a hole in the siding of their home and a rock on their porch approximately the same size of the hole which was not there the previous evening.

December 6 - Burglary- second degree and conspiracy.

Lieutenant Dustin Brodrick responded to a report of a stolen debit card in the 100 block of East Miles.

According to the report, David Craig stated he was standing outside his vehicle and was approached by a known male subject, who then left in a vehicle with a known female subject.

Shortly thereafter, Craig was informed his debit card had been fraudulently used at two locations in Enid, the report said.

According to the report, surveillance video showed, after making contact with Craig, the individuals circled back around and one of the individuals “open the front passenger door of Craig’s vehicle, mess around inside for a few seconds and then appear to get back in the driver’s side of the white SUV before leaving headed east.”

Craig contacted the Enid Police Department to make a report regarding the incident and was informed an employee of a gas station confiscated the credit card after a customer’s attempt to make a fraudulent purchase, the report said.

Brodrick said in his report that he attempted to make contact with the suspects, but was unsuccessful.

Brodrick requested a warrant for third degree burglary of an automobile for the 26-year-old male suspect and conspiracy to commit third degree burglary of an automobile for the 42-year-old female suspect, the report said.

December 7 - Unauthorized use of a vehicle.

Sergeant Charles Trout took a report of a stolen vehicle in the 200 block of East Fay Avenue.

Sebrina Newland reportedly stated her son, Cole Mitchell’s vehicle was parked at her granddaughter’s house and was missing.

According to the report, Trout made contact with Mitchell and he stated he had not given anyone permission to drive the vehicle and if his niece was not in possession the vehicle, it was stolen.

Officers attempted to locate the vehicle, but were unsuccessful and the vehicle’s identifying information was entered into the National Crime Information Center, the report said.
