Kingfisher Police Department reports
The Kingfisher Police Department has investigated or responded to the following reports:
October 19 - Driving with license canceled/ suspended/revoked.
Officer Aaron Schlegel said in his report that he observed a vehicle speeding in the area of South Fifth Street and East Bowman Avenue and recognized the driver as an individual with a suspended license.
According to the report, Schlegel initiated a traffic stop and confirmed with dispatch the 27-year-old female suspect was driving with a suspended driver’s license.
The suspect was arrested for driving with a suspended license and transported to the Kingfisher County Criminal Justice Center.
October 21 - Larceny from building. Officer Dustin Brodrick responded to a report of theft at Apple Thrift Store, 1500 S. Main St.
Sharon Allen reportedly stated an outdoor sign had been stolen from the store overnight.
The reported value of the sign was $300.
October 23 - Defective head lamp, eluding police officer and transporting open container-liquor.
Officer Jeffrey Robbins said in his report that he observed a 2007 Nissan Altima with a defective headlamp traveling northbound on Seventh Street near Sheridan Avenue and attempted to initiate a traffic stop.
According to the report, the vehicle turned westbound on S.H. 33 and, after Robbins activated his patrol car’s emergency lights, the vehicle accelerated and turned northbound on South 11th Street, eventually turning east on West Miles Avenue and stopped at a residence in the 500 block of West Miles Avenue.
The 41-year-old female driver initially refused to comply with Robbins’ commands to put her hands up and “continued to eat her ice cream,” according to the report. The 20-year-old male passenger complied with officer’s commands immediately and the driver eventually complied, the report said.
According to the report, Robbins determined the driver had a valid driver’s license, no warrants and valid insurance verification, as well as the passenger was free of any warrants.
Officer Christopher McDaniel observed a open bottle of liquor under the passenger seat and was told by both driver and passenger that the bottle belonged to another individual not present in the vehicle, the report said.
Robbins said in his report neither individual in the vehicle exhibited signs of intoxication.
The driver was placed under arrest for defective headlight, eluding police and transporting an open container of liquor. The passenger was released.
Officer Tyler Girten assisted with the investigation.
October 27 - Unlawful possession of paraphernalia, expiration of licensee and failure to register vehicle within 30 days of purchase.
Officer Jeffrey Robbins said in his report that he was on patrol when he observed a 2011 BMW exit McDonald’s drive-thru with a paper tag that appeared to be altered.
According to the report, Robbins initiated a traffic stop at U.S. 81 and Frontage Road and made contact with the 24-year-old female driver and determined she was driving with an expired license and had failed to register the vehicle within 30 days of purchase.
Officer Brandon Chapman arrived on the scene and made contact with a 26-year-old male passenger, the report said.
Robbins said in his report that he issued the driver a citation for driving with no license and failure to pay taxes to state. Robbins requested and received consent to search the vehicle from the driver, according to the report.
Upon searching the vehicle and completing an inventory of the contents for impound, officers located two pieces of tin foil with burnt residue as well as other paraphernalia, the report said.
Robbins performed a field test of the burnt residue on the foil which tested positive for heroin, according to the report.
A citation for possession of drug paraphernalia was issued to both the driver and passenger.
October 28 - Malicious injury/destruction of property.
Officer Aaron Schlegel responded to a report of vehicle damage in the parking lot of Kingfisher Family Clinic, 1100 Hospital Circle.
Austin Haydon reportedly stated an individual had opened their vehicle door and struck the side of his vehicle, causing damage, and left the scene.
According to the report, Schlegel located the vehicle at Braum’s, 1615 S. Main St., and made contact with the 52-year-old female driver, who stated she spoke with Haydon about the incident, but assumed it was okay and left the scene.
Haydon and his passen-ger came to Braum’s and identified the suspect, the report said.
The suspect’s insurance information was provided to Haydon, according to the report.
Schlegel took photographs of paint transfer on both vehicles, the report said.

October 28 - Theft of motor vehicle.
Officer Justin Trumbley responded to a report of theft of a motor vehicle and identity theft at Jacksons of Kingfisher, 2600 Frontage Road.
Jalene Jackson stated a 2016 Chevrolet Corvette was sold to an individual over the phone, delivered to him on Oct. 27 in Fort Worth, Texas, and a photo was taken of the individual with the Corvette upon delivery, the report said.
According to the report, representatives at Jacksons received notice the following day from US Bank that the identity used to purchase the vehicle had been reported as identity theft.
Trumbley said in his report that he made contact with the actual individual whose identity had been stolen and suggested he contact his local police department regarding the incident, the report said.
Trumbley also shared the photo of the suspect with the identity theft victim for possible future identification of the suspect, according to the report.
The vehicle’s identification information was entered in the National Crime Identification Center (NCIC).
October 29 - Warrant, expired license plates, no insurance, driving with license canceled/ suspended/revoked, altering license plate/decal, possession of dangerous drugs prohibited and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Officer Aaron Schlegel said in his report that he observed a vehicle with a suspected altered tag in the area of Seventh Street and Seay Avenue and initiated a traffic stop.
According to the report, the 57-year-old male driver did not have a valid driver’s license or insurance on the vehicle.
Schlegel determined the tag decal belonged on a 2020 Polaris RZR, the report said.
A 67-year-old male passenger was determined to have a warrant in Blaine County and was taken into custody, according to the report.
Another passenger in the vehicle had no warrants and was released, the report said.
A straw with possible methamphetamine residue was located in the driver’s back pocket and a glass pipe with white, crystal residue and scales were seized from the vehicle during inventory, according to the report.
A field test performed on the glass pipe was inconclusive, but a positive result for methamphetamine was derived from the straw residue, the report said.
According to the report, the driver was placed under arrest and charged with operating a motor vehicle on which all taxes due to state have not been paid, failure to comply with compulsory insurance law, operating a motor vehicle while driver’s license is revoked, affixing decal with intent to conceal identity, possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

October 31 - Larceny of merchandise from retailer. Officer Tyler Girten responded to a report of theft at Walmart, 200 Starlite Drive.
A Walmart asset protection associate reportedly stated he witnessed a 57-year-old male remove automotive headlamps from a package and conceal them as well as a bottle of spray deodorant.
According to the report, as the suspect exited the store, the asset protection associate confronted him regarding the incident.
Girten said in his report that he made contact with the suspect and informed him charges would be filed with the district attorney regarding the theft.
The reported value of the items was $52.24.
November 4 - Expired license plates, driving with license canceled/ suspended/revoked and warrant.
Officer Aaron Schlegel said in his report he observed a vehicle with an expired tag in the area of U.S. 81 and Industrial Park Road and initiated a traffic stop.
According to the report, the 36-year-old male was driving with a suspended driver’s license.
Schlegel detected the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle and determined the driver had a valid medical marijuana card, the report said.
According to the report, the driver had an outstanding warrant in Canadian County and was arrested on the warrant.
Schlegel said in his report that he issued the driver a citation for operating a motor vehicle on which all taxes due to state have not been paid and for operating a motor vehicle while driver’s license is suspended.
The suspect was transported to the Kingfisher County Criminal Justice Center.
