Kingfisher Police Department reports
The Kingfisher Police Department has investigated or responded to the following reports:
January 9 - Larceny of lost property.
Officer Justin Conner took a report of stolen property at Payless Inns, 2300 Frontage Road.
Spencer Morris reportedly stated that he had stayed at the motel and, after he had returned home, he received a Facebook message from a 21-year-old male suspect claiming he found a bag belonging to Morris containing camera equipment.
According to the report, the suspect attempted to “sell” the equipment back to Morris for $600.
After making contact with the motel owner and observing video surveillance of the incident, Conner determined the bag had been placed by a motel employee near a storage container on motel property and later removed by an unauthorized subject.
According to the report, Conner made contact with the suspect who had taken the bag and previously attempted to get money from the owner for its return.
Conner said in his report that the suspect returned the bag and photography equipment valued at $1,500 to the officer and it is being held in evidence until the owner can collect it.
The suspect was charged with larceny of lost property.
January 11 - Malicious injury/destruction of property.
Officer Aaron Schlegel took a report from Charles Stewart regarding property damage to a mailbox.
Stewart reportedly stated he was westbound on Bowman Avenue when he began sneezing and possibly struck a mailbox on the right.
According to the report, Schlegel and Stewart returned to the scene and observed damage to a mailbox belonging to Maria Rocha Marcias.
Schlegel said in his report that he made contact with the owner regarding the damage and Stewart provided his vehicle insurance information.
Schlegel took photographs of the damage to the mailbox and Stewart’s vehicle, according to the report.
January 11 - Driving with license canceled/suspended/revoked and warrant.
According to the report, Officer Aaron Schlegel observed a known individual with a warrant driving a Mazda SUV in the area of U.S. 81 and Chisholm Drive.
Schlegel initiated a traffic stop and made contact with the 22-year-old male suspect, according to the report.
The suspect was determined to be driving with a revoked driver’s license as well as having the outstanding warrant, the report said.
According to the report, the suspect was arrested for driving with a revoked driver’s license and a warrant and transported to the Kingfisher County Criminal Justice Center.
Schlegel said in his report that a licensed driver was contacted to take possession of the vehicle.
