Kingfisher Police Department reports

The Kingfisher Police Department has investigated or responded to the following reports:

January 13 - Driving with license canceled/ suspended/revoked, no insurance, possession of dangerous drugs prohibited-marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Officer Aaron Schlegel said in his report that he observed a Ford Ranger pass his patrol car on U.S. 81 and the passenger was not wearing a seatbelt.

According to the report, Schlegel initiated a traffic stop and determined the 58-year-old female driver was driving with a suspended driver’s license and without compulsory insurance on the vehicle.

As officers prepared to have the vehicle impounded, an inventory of the vehicle produced two containers of suspected marijuana (which later field tested positive) and two smoking pipes, the report said.

Schlegel placed the driver under arrest for driving with license canceled/ suspended/revoked, no insurance, possession of marijuana-prohibited and possession of drug paraphernalia.

A warning for the seatbelt violation was also issued to the driver, according to the report.

The suspect was transported to the Kingfisher County Criminal Justice Center, the vehicle was impounded and the passenger was released.

Officer Matthew Hollon assisted with the investigation.

January 17 - Public intoxication.

Officer Tyler Girten responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle in Casey’s General Store parking lot, 102 S. Main St.

Girten said in his report that he made contact with a 37-year-old male driver who appeared to be asleep in the driver’s seat of a Chevrolet truck.

According to the report, the suspect did not possess a valid driver’s license and appeared to exhibit signs of intoxication while having an open container in the vehicle.

Girten performed a field sobriety test on the suspect and placed him under arrest for public intoxication, the report said.

The vehicle was towed at the request of a representative of Casey’s, according to the report.

Officer Christopher McDaniel assisted with the investigation.

January 19 - DUI-liquor or drugs, speeding, transporting an open container and possession of dangerous drugs prohibited-marijuana.

Officer Jeffrey Robbins was dispatched in reference to a possible intoxicated driver in the area of 800 S. Third St.

Robbins said in his report that he observed a vehicle matching the description traveling at a high rate of speed on South Sixth Street and initiated a traffic stop in the 600 block of East Broadway Avenue.

According to the report, the 36-year-old male driver appeared to show signs of intoxication and a field sobriety test was performed on the individual. An open container of beer was also located in the vehicle, the report said.

Officers discovered a container with a blunt (which later field tested positive for marijuana) in the suspect’s pocket, according to the report.

The suspect was placed under arrest for DUI, speeding, transporting an open container of beer and possession of marijuana.

A female passenger was released and the vehicle was inventoried and impounded, the report said.

The suspect was transported to the Kingfisher County Criminal Justice Center.

Sergeant Charles Trout and Kingfisher County Sheriff’s Deputy John Reidlinger assisted with the investigation.

January 19 - Frauds, cheats, false pretenses and false personations over $1,000 and grand larceny.

Officer Dustin Brodrick took a report of fraud and theft in the 800 block of South Third Street.

January 20 - Unauthorized use of credit/debit card.

Officer Justin Conner took a report of debit card fraud in the 1000 block of Meadow Lane.

Anna Lawrence reportedly stated a charge of $83.46 was fraudulently debited from her account on a Walmart transaction.

According to the report, Lawrence was able to determine the identity of the individual who allegedly received the merchandise.

Conner made contact with the individual, who said she ordered the same merchandise through Amazon and had evidence that her card had been charged for the merchandise, according to the report.

Connor said in his report that he suspected the error had occurred within Walmart and/or Amazon’s systems and was not fraud committed by the identified individual.

Connor attempted to contact Walmart headquarters, but was unsuccessful in obtaining an individual who could assist with his investigation, the report said.

January 23 - Domestic assault and battery/ abuse second offense.

Officer Christopher McDaniel responded to a domestic altercation in the 200 block of East Fay Avenue.

Officer Tyler Girten and Jeffrey Robbins assisted with the investigation.

January 24 - Burglary-first degree and trespass.

Officer Jeffrey Robbins responded to a report of trespassing at Payless Inn, 2300 Frontage Road.

Robbins said in his report he observed a door to one of the rooms had been damaged and a known 44-year-old male nearby who had previously been trespassed from the property.

Officers made contact with the property manager and obtained video surveillance of the incident, the report said.

According to the report, the suspect was placed under arrest for first degree burglary and trespassing and transported to the Kingfisher County Criminal Justice Center.

Officers Christopher McDaniel and Tyler Girten assisted with the investigation.

January 27 - Larceny of merchandise from retailer.

Officer Matthew Hollon responded to a report of theft at Walmart, 200 W. Starlite Drive.

According to the report, a Walmart asset protection representative stated he stopped a female individual who was observed attempting to leave without paying for merchandise.

The suspect returned the stolen merchandise, but then fled the store, according to the report.

Officer Justin Conner conducted an investigative traffic stop of the vehicle, driven by the 27-year-old female suspect, based on the description that was given.

The reported total value of the items taken was $62.17.

Walmart representatives provided security footage of the incident to officers, the report said.
