Kingfisher Police Department reports
The Kingfisher Police Department has investigated or responded to the following reports: August 4 - Malicious injury/destruction of property and larceny from the house.
Officer Derek Grassmann responded to a report of property damage in the 1200 block of South Main Street.
According to the report, Lori Mayes led the officers to a damaged swimming pool in the backyard. Located near the pool was a screw which appeared to have caused the damage and two fireball shots were also located nearby, the report said.
Lieutenant Dustin Brodrick seized the fireball shots as evidence and photographed the scene, according to the report.
Grassmann said in his report that the officers returned to the residence later in the day in regard to a report of stolen property.
Mayes reportedly stated she discovered a pecan roller, post hole diggers and a toolbox containing tools were missing.
Damage to the pool was reported to be $300 and the stolen property was valued at $100.
August 11 - Larceny of lost property.
Officer Aaron Schlegel took a report of stolen property at Walmart, 200 W. Starlite Drive.
According to the report, Theresa Thornton stated her daughter had inadvertently left her AirPods in the self-checkout at Walmart.
Thornton reportedly said the AirPods case had an air tag on it, which they tracked to 1209 S. Main St.
The air tag and AirPods case were located in a trash can, but the AirPods were not located, the report said.
Schlegel said in his report that he contacted Walmart and would review surveillance footage in an attempt to identify a possible suspect.
The reported value of the AirPods was $140.96.
August 12 - Driving with license canceled/ suspended/revoked, expired license plates and warrant.
Officer Aaron Schlegel said in his report that he observed a vehicle on Starlite Drive with a defective tail light which then made an improper left turn onto U.S. 81.
According to the report, Schlegel initiated a traffic stop and the 33-year-old female driver was determined to be driving without a valid driver’s license and had two outstanding warrants in Kingfisher County.
Schlegel placed the suspect under arrest for operating a motor vehicle on which all taxes due to state have not been paid, operating a motor vehicle while driver’s license is suspended and outstanding warrants.
Additionally, she was issued warnings for the improper left turn and defective tail light.
The suspect was then transported to the Kingfisher County Criminal Justice Center.
August 12 - Impersonating another by written instrument.
Officer Justin Conner took a report of identity theft in the 300 block of South Eighth Street.
According to the report, April Askey stated a fraudulent unemployment claim had been made in her name.
