Kingfisher Police Department reports

The Kingfisher Police Department has investigated or responded to the following reports:

April 4 - Public intoxication.

Officer Dustin Brodrick responded to a report of an unwanted person at Jacksons auto dealership, 2600 Frontage Road.

Brodrick said in his report that employees stated an individual, who appeared to be intoxicated, wanted to test drive a vehicle, but his request was denied.

According to the report, employees then informed the officer that the individual was currently located at the northeast corner of the Walmart parking lot, 200 W. Starlite Drive.

Brodrick made contact with the suspect who appeared to exhibit signs of intoxication, the report said.

The 19-year-old male suspect was placed under arrest for public intoxication and transported to the Kingfisher County Criminal Justice Center.

Captain Travis Gray assisted with the investigation.

April 6 - Planning or threatening violent act.

Officer Matthew Hollon responded to a report of “a man trying to fight family members” in the 400 block of West Don Blanding Avenue.

Upon arrival, the 30-yearold male also threatened officers, according to the report.

The suspect was placed under arrest for planning or threatening a violent act and transported to the Kingfisher County Criminal Justice Center.

Officer Justin Conner assisted with the investigation.

April 7 - Warrant.

Officer Christopher Mc-Daniel responded to a report of suspicious persons at Atwoods, 1213 S. Main St.

According to the report, store employees informed officers they had observed two female individuals enter the bathroom and after they exited, drug-related items were found in the bathroom.

Officers made contact with a 48-year-old female suspect and a 27-year-old suspect in the store, the report said.

Officers were advised by dispatch that the 48-yearold female suspect had active warrants in Major and Alfalfa counties and she was placed under arrest.

According to the report, the suspect had a THC vape pen on her person which was seized and she was issued a citation for that offense.

The suspect was then transported to the Kingfisher County Criminal Justice Center.

April 8 - No seat belt, failure to show insurance, failure to yield to vehicle in intersection, driving with license canceled/ suspended/revoked and leaving the scene of an accident involving injury.

Officer Matthew Hollon responded to a report of a hit and run accident on U.S. 81 and East Locust Avenue.

According to the report, a 37-year-old male driver was eastbound on West Locust Avenue, failed to yield and struck a northbound vehicle on U.S. 81 driven by a 28-year-old female.

Witnesses informed officers that the male driver fled on foot and officers located the suspect approximately two blocks from the scene, the report said.

EMS personnel examined both drivers at the scene, but both declined to be transported for further evaluation, according to the report.

The male driver was placed under arrest for leaving the scene of an accident, failure to comply with compulsory insurance law, failure to yield to vehicles in intersection, driving with license canceled/suspended/ revoked and failure to wear a seatbelt.

Officer Justin Conner transported the suspect to Mercy Hospital Kingfisher to obtain medical clearance for incarceration prior to transporting the individual to the Kingfisher County Criminal Justice Center.

Later that day, Hollon received information that the female driver had sought medical treatment for her injuries and the suspect’s charges were amended to include a felony charge of leaving the scene of an accident resulting in a nonfatal injury, the report said.

April 11 - Larceny of merchandise from retailer.

Officer Dustin Brodrick responded to a report of theft at Walmart, 200 W. Starlite Drive.

According to the report, Walmart asset protection employees stated a 55-yearold male scanned only a portion of the items in his shopping cart at the self-checkout, but attempted to exit with all the items including those he didn’t purchase.

Self-checkout cashiers also reported to the asset protection manager that the same individual had previously “done this before and scans one item but bags multiples of that same item,” according to the report.

Brodrick obtained footage of the incident as well as a photo of the stolen items which had a reported total value of $34.30.

April 15 - Larceny of merchandise from retailer.

Officer Matthew Hollon responded to a report of theft at Walmart, 200 W. Starlite Drive.

According to the report, an asset protection employee stated he observed a 45-year-old male and 32-year-old female at the self-checkout bagging items which were not scanned.

The employee said he approached the couple and gave them the opportunity to scan all the items on another register, but they were observed failing to scan all items again, the report said.

Hollon reviewed footage of the incident and was provided a copy as well.

The reported total value of stolen items was $139.54.

April 19 - Complaint.

Sergeant Charles Trout took a report of a scam in the 800 block of Clark Avenue.

According to the report, a 43-year-old female stated on April 15 she initiated a conversation online with Compsych Inc. inquiring about a job.

The company reportedly offered the woman an iPhone, Apple laptop computer and printer for the job and requested a $100 prepaid Visa card as well as access to her Facebook account.

The female provided the Visa and Facebook account access as well as other identifying information to the company, the report said.

According to the report, the company then requested more prepaid cards and a photo of her credit card, which she did not supply.

The woman said she then realized the interaction was possibly fraudulent, the report said.

According to the report, the interaction was initiated on Facebook (in which the victim is now unable to access her account), followed by communication through the Signal app.
