Kingfisher Police Department reports
The Kingfisher Police Department has investigated or responded to the following reports:
April 4 - Larceny of merchandise from retailer.
Sergeant Justin Trumbley responded to a report of theft at Walmart, 200 W. Starlite Drive.
According to the report, an employee discovered an empty stereo box on April 3 and two females were seen on surveillance footage in the electronics department with one of them removing a stereo from its box.
The suspect then took a purse and placed the stereo in the new purse, leaving her old purse in the store and also took a pair of sweatpants, changing into them before leaving the store, the report said.
The other female suspect also left the store with unpurchased items in her cart, according to the report.
The total reported value of the stereo, sweat pants and purse was $290.94.
April 4 - Burglary-second degree (all other).
Officer Matthew Hollon responded to a report of burglary at Cube Smart Storage, 1203 S. Main St.
According to the report, the manager stated six storage units had been burglarized and multiple items were stolen.
Some of the items taken included a sterling silver diamond pendant necklace and earring set ($300), Christmas ornaments and decorations ($400-$500), a Coleman tent ($80), a porcelain doll collection (family heirloom/ unvalued), a home security system ($750) and a high school state band ring ($450) as well as other items.
A plastic glove and a knife were photographed and collected as evidence at the scene, the report said.
April 7 - No valid driver’s license and operate/ APC vehicle under the influence of intoxicating substance.
Officer Steven Renbarger said in his report that he observed a southbound vehicle on U.S. 81 with a defective third brake light, veering out of its lane and initiated a traffic stop.
According to the report, the 38-year-old male driver was driving without a valid driver’s license and appeared to exhibit signs of intoxication.
Field sobriety tests were performed on the suspect and he was placed under arrest for driving under the influence and driving without a valid driver’s license and transported to the Kingfisher County Criminal Justice Center.
Officer Jarred Tech assisted with the investigation.
March 2 - Vicious animal prohibited and running at large-dog.
Officer Christopher Mc-Daniel responded to a report of dogs running loose in the 600 block of South Third Street.
According to the report, a male individual reported that several dogs were running loose, acting aggressively and one dog had grabbed his pants, tearing a hole.
McDaniel said in his report that he and Officer Matthew Hollon located the residence where the dogs reside and made contact with the owners.
According to the report, the dog which caused the damage to the reporting party’s pants belonged to a 30-year-old female, who was issued a citation for keeping a vicious animal.
The other two dogs belonged to a 25-year-old female and she was issued a citation for dogs at large, the report said.
McDaniel said in his report that he took photographs of the dogs.
April 5 - Operate vehicle while suspended, denied or revoked, speeding and failure to show insurance.
Corporal Aaron Schlegel said in his report that he observed a northbound vehicle on U.S. 81 traveling at speed greater than the posted limit and initiated a traffic stop.
According to the report, the 25-year-old male driver was driving without a valid driver’s license and no insurance.
Officers also detected an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle, the report said.
The suspect was placed under arrest for operating a motor vehicle while driving privileges are suspended and issued district citations for speeding, operating a motor vehicle while driving privileges are suspended and no insurance.
The suspect was transported to the Kingfisher County Criminal Justice Center and the vehicle was towed.
April 6 - Operate/APC vehicle under influence of intoxicating substance and transporting open container of liquor.
Corporal Aaron Schlegel said in his report that he observed a southbound vehicle on U.S. 81 with a defective driver’s side brake light and a screen/cover over the license plate and initiated a traffic stop.
According to the report, the 25-year-old male appeared to exhibit signs of intoxication and an odor of marijuana was detected coming from the vehicle.
A partial marijuana blunt was observed on the center console and the driver did possess a medical marijuana card, the report said.
Schlegel said in his report that he performed field sobriety tests on the suspect and placed him under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence.
Officers performed an inventory of the vehicle and collected the partial marijuana blunt and a half-full bottle of Crown Royal whiskey, the report said.
The suspect was transported to Mercy Hospital Kingfisher to have blood samples drawn for the state’s blood test and then transported to the Kingfisher County Criminal Justice Center.
The suspect was issued a warning for the defective brake light and license plate cover/screen and district citations for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of an intoxicating substance and transporting an open container of alcohol. Officers Matthew Hollon and Justin Conner assisted with the investigation.
April 6 - Larceny of merchandise from retailer.
Officer Christopher Mc-Daniel responded to a report of theft at Atwoods, 1213 S. Main St.
According to the report, a 63-year-old male suspect was observed concealing merchandise and exiting the store without attempting to pay for the items.
Store employees followed the man into the parking lot and were able to provide officers with a description of the suspect’s vehicle and the license plate number, according to the report.
McDaniel reviewed surveillance footage of the incident and observed the suspect picking up several items, removing the security tag, concealing them and exiting the store, the report said.
Officers were able to identify the suspect based on the information provided, according to the report.
The total reported value of the items stolen was $920.90.
