Kingfisher Police Department reports

The Kingfisher Police Department has investigated or responded to the following reports:

May 5 - Driving with license canceled/suspended/ revoked and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Officer Jarred Tech said in his report that he observed a vehicle with an inoperable driver’s side brake light on U.S. 81 and initiated a traffic stop.

According to the report, the 20-year-old male suspect was driving without a valid driver’s license and a strong odor of marijuana was coming from inside the vehicle.

The suspect was placed under arrest for driving without a valid driver’s license.

Sergeant Charles Trout performed an inventory of the vehicle and discovered “several small pieces of leafy, green type of substance commonly known as ‘shake’ and a 1/3 (full) glass container of Reefer Springs White Truffle… commonly known as ‘dab,’” according to the report.

Possession of drug paraphernalia was also added to the charges and the suspect was transported to the Kingfisher County Criminal Justice Center, the report said.

May 7 - False personation creating liability or benefit, unlawful possession of a controlled dangerous substance, improper display of tag and distribution of controlled substance-including possession with intent.

Corporal Aaron Schlegel said in his report that he observed a vehicle on U.S. 81 displaying a tag which didn’t match the make and model of the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop.

According to the report, the 41-year-old female driver stated that she had a valid driver’s license, but couldn’t locate it.

The 38-year-old male passenger reportedly provided a false identity to officers, but later gave them his true identity, the report said.

Dispatch confirmed the male suspect had an outstanding warrant in Garfield County and the suspect was placed under arrest for the warrant and false personation, according to the report.

Officers located a plastic baggy containing a white crystal-like substance in the suspect’s backpack (which tested positive for methamphetamine), the report said.

The suspect was also charged with possession of a controlled and dangerous substance.

Officers searched the vehicle and located a purse with four plastic baggies containing a white crystal- like substance, which also tested positive for methamphetamine, according to the report.

The female suspect was arrested for affixing improper license plate and possession of a controlled and dangerous substance with intent to distribute.

Sergeant Justin Trumbley and Officer Jarred Tech assisted with the investigation.

May 11 - Domestic assault and battery/abuse.

Officer Justin Conner responded to a report of an altercation in the area of U.S. 81 and Sheridan Avenue.

Corporal Aaron Schlegel assisted with the investigation.

May 11 - Driving with license canceled/suspended/ revoked.

Officer Steven Renbarger said in his report that he observed a northbound vehicle on U.S. 81 with an expired license plate and initiated a traffic stop.

According to the report, the 25-year-old male driver was driving with a suspended license.

The suspect was placed under arrest for driving with a suspended license and issued a warning for the expired license plate, the report said.

An inventory of the vehicle was performed and it was towed.

The suspect was transported to the Kingfisher County Criminal Justice Center.

Officer Chris McDaniel assisted with the investigation.

May 14 - DUI-liquor or drugs/APCV.

Corporal Aaron Schlegel said in his report that he observed an eastbound vehicle traveling on the wrong side of the street on South Eighth Street and West Sheridan Avenue and initiated a traffi c stop.

According to the report, the 28-year-old female driver appeared to exhibit signs of being under the influence of an intoxicating substance.

Schlegel performed field sobriety tests on the suspect and placed her under arrest for suspicion of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of an intoxicating substance, the report said.

Sergeant Justin Trumbley and Officer Quinton Cline performed an inventory of the vehicle and it was towed. The suspect was transported to Mercy Hospital Kingfisher for the state’s blood test and then to the Kingfisher County Criminal Justice Center, according to the report. The suspect was issued a warning for failure to maintain lane and a district citation for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of an intoxicating substance.

May 18 - Operate/APC vehicle under influence of intoxicating substance and speeding.

Officer Steven Renbarger said in his report that he observed a northbound vehicle on U.S. 81 traveling at a rate above the posted speed limit and initiated a traffic stop.

According to the report, the 34-year-old male driver appeared to exhibit signs of intoxication, but refused to perform field sobriety tests.

The suspect was placed under arrest for driving while intoxicated and transported to the Kingfisher County Criminal Justice Center.

The vehicle was inventoried and towed from the scene, according to the report.

Officer Christopher Mc-Daniel assisted with the investigation.

May 25 - Larceny of merchandise from retailer.

Officer Justin Conner responded to a report of theft at Walmart, 200 W. Starlite Drive.

According to the report, two individuals entered the store on May 23 and purchased several items, but exited the store with two items which had not been purchased.

The items which were stolen included a cellphone body glove and drive play device, with a total value of $118.88, the report said.

Photographs of the suspects and their vehicle were provided to police, according to the report.
