Kingfisher Police Department reports
The Kingfisher Police Department has investigated or responded to the following reports:
April 21 - Leaving scene of accident unattended vehicle. — Officer Michael Farrar responded to a report of a hit and run accident in the United Supermarket parking lot, 1215 S. Main St. Farrar said in his report that he observed surveillance footage of the accident in which a Ford-150 backed into a GMC Acadia resulting in damage and then left the scene. According to the report, the 80-year-old male driver of the suspect vehicle was identified. The reporting party indicated she had been in contact with the suspect and they intended to handle the matter without further assistance from the police department, the report said.
April 23 - Driving with license canceled/ suspended/revoked, improper display of tag and removed, falsified or unauthorized identifi cation. — Officer Justin Conner said in his report that he observed a motorcycle with an expired tag and initiated a traffic stop in the 200 block of South 12th Street. According to the report, the 39-year-old male driver was driving without a valid driver’s license and the license plate on the motorcycle was registered to a different vehicle. Conner said in his report the VIN number on the motorcycle has also been tampered with and the suspect admitted to “welding something to the motorcycle in that area and even painting over it at one point.” The suspect was placed under arrest for driving under suspension and defacing or altering a VIN number. Sergeant Aaron Schlegel and Officer Kyle Svoboda inventoried the motorcycle and the suspect was transported to the Kingfisher County Criminal Justice Center.
April 24 - Felony value- false pretense/bogus check/con game. — According to the report, Sergeant Charles Trout took a report from a resident who provided a copy of a fraudulent check on her banking account. Trout made contact with the bank in which the money was sent to and was informed the couple who received the money also appeared to be a victim in the fraudulent banking scheme, the report said. The total value of the check was $959.12.
April 24 - Larceny of merchandise from retailer. — Officer Matthew Hollon responded to a report of theft at Walmart, 200 Starlite Drive. According to the report, a 34-year-old female suspect was observed “bagging and concealing multiple items at the self-checkout register without scanning and paying for them.” A total 12 items were allegedly stolen with a value of $89.87, the report said.
April 26 - Failure to show insurance. — Officer Steven Renbarger said in his report that he observed a vehicle at the intersection of U.S. 81 and Starlite Drive with a defective third brake light enter the median while attempting to turn northbound on U.S. 81 and initiated a traffic stop. According to the report, the 35-year-old female driver was driving without proof of insurance. The passenger was issued a cite and release for McClain County and the vehicle was impounded, the report said.
April 27 - Rape-first degree and possession of controlled substance. — Officer Christopher McDaniel responded to a report of a female in distress at Payless Inn, 2300 S. Frontage Road. According to the report, an 18-year-old female reported that she had been raped by a 43-year-old male suspect. Search warrants were executed and controlled dangerous substances were discovered as well as two firearms and multiple rounds of ammunition, the report said. The suspect was placed under arrest for rape-first degree and possession of controlled substance and transported to the Kingfisher County Criminal Justice Center. Officer Matthew Hollon assisted with the investigation, along with the Kingfisher County Sheriff’s office and Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
April 28 - Malicious injury/destruction of property-state. — Officer Kyle Svoboda responded to a report of vandalism in the 1100 block of South Main Street. Svoboda said in his report that he spoke to a couple who own a home on Main Street and the woman said she observed a vehicle drive through the alleyway with several kids in the back who threw eggs at their house. Svoboda observed eggs on the roof, one of which hit a window, and made contact with a neighbor who witnessed the incident, according to the report.
April 30 - DUI-liquor or drugs/APCV. — Sergeant Aaron Schlegel said in his report that he observed a southbound vehicle on U.S. 81 with a defective third brake light and initiated a traffic stop. According to the report, the 33-year-old male driver appeared to exhibit signs of intoxication and field sobriety tests were performed. The suspect was issued a warning for defective equipment and a district citation for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and transported to the Kingfisher County Criminal Justice Center. Officer Christopher Mc-Daniel assisted with the investigation.
