Kingfisher police reports
The Kingfisher Police Department has investigated or responded to the following reports:
September 10 - Petit larceny-state. — Sergeant Aaron Schlegel responded to a report of theft at Shamrock Nursing Center, 1415 S. Main St. According to the report, a resident allegedly stole $140 from another resident and, once confronted by staff, admitted to the theft and returned the money.
September 13 - DUI-liquor or drugs/APCV aggravated. — Officer Jarred Tech said in his report that he observed a northbound vehicle on U.S. 81 exceeding the posted speed limit and he initiated a traffic stop. According to the report, the 20-year-old male driver appeared to exhibit signs of intoxication and field sobriety tests were performed. The suspect was placed under arrest for DUI and transported to the Kingfisher County Criminal Justice Center. Officer Matthew Hollon assisted with the investigation and performed an inventory of the suspect’s vehicle before it was towed.
September 17 - Domestic assault and battery/ abuse. — Officer Christopher Mc-Daniel responded to a report of a domestic disturbance in the 1300 block of South 11th Street. Sergeant Aaron Schlegel assisted with the investigation.
September 18 - Reckless driving and no valid driver’s license. — Officer Jarred Tech responded to a report of a wrong-way driver on U.S. 81. According to the report, the 29-year-old male driver’s vehicle was northbound in the southbound lanes of U.S. 81 and Tech initiated a traffic stop. The suspect was placed under arrest for operating a motor vehicle without a valid driver’s license and reckless driving. Sergeant Justin Conner, Deputy Johnston and Deputy Diaz assisted with the investigation.
September 18 - Malicious injury/destruction of property. — Captain Dustin Brodrick responded to a report of property damage at Wheatheart Nutrition, 1605 S. Main St. Brodrick said in his report that he observed a door on the north side of the building with the glass shattered and he took photos of the damage.
September 18 - Forgery second-notes, checks, bills, drafts. — Sergeant Aaron Schlegel responded to a report of counterfeit money at Atwoods, 1213 S. Main St. According to the report, a 50-year-old male suspect and 61-year-old male suspect entered the store and the 50-year-old suspect attempted to purchase items with a counterfeit a $100. Schlegel said the two suspects denied knowing the money was counterfeit, the report said. Both suspects returned to the store with the individual who provided the $100, who also denied knowing the money was counterfeit, to speak with officers about the incident, according to the report. Officer Matthew Hollon assisted with the investigation.
September 19 - Obedience to and required traffic control devices and operate/APC vehicle under the influence of intoxicating substance. — According to the report, Sergeant Aaron Schlegel observed a vehicle on S.H. 33 run a red traffic signal and turn southbound onto U.S. 81. Schlegel said in his report that he initiated a traffic stop of the vehicle and detected an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Field sobriety tests were performed and the 30-yearold male suspect was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence and failure to obey traffic control device.
