Kingfisher Public Schools to seek grant funds for 21st CCLC Rising STARS program
Kingfisher Public Schools will be applying for a new 21st CCLC program for Gilmour Elementary and Heritage schools.
Rising STARS will serve students in grades kindergarten through third.
Rising STARS is a before school, afterschool and summer program for students and family members attending Gilmour Elementary and Heritage schools.
The mission of Rising STARS is to create holistic enriching learning opportunities that align with school-day learning, utilize project-based learning, and explore new skills and knowledge.
Rising STARS will be the catalyst to assist in closing the achievement gap with a long-range goal of increasing at risk students’ academic performance.
The focus is the whole child through high-quality math and reading tutoring and enrichment projects in STEAM, social-emotional learning, early college/ career exploration, healthy lifestyles, art, music, character education, counseling and drug, alcohol and tobacco prevention programs.
Notification of funding will be in the fall.
