Kokojan recovering after train, combine collision near Waukomis

By

Waukomis Fire Chief Bobby Kokojan is expected to recover from his injuries after his combine was hit by a northbound train south of Waukomis last weekend.

That’s according to a family friend.

Kokojan was injured when the combine he was operating was hit by a train about two miles south of Waukomis on Saturday.

According to the Enid News & Eagle, the force of the northbound train pushed the combine about one-quarter mile up the tracks.

The collision caused a fire that burned a reported five acres of wheat stubble between U.S. Highway 81 and the train tracks, according to the Enid newspaper.

Kokojan was flown to the OU Medical Center with multiple injuries and he remained hospitalized at press time of this edition.
