KPD investigates multiple reports
The Kingfisher Police Department has investigated or responded to the following reports: September 23 - Access computer system/ network with unlawful intent.
Officer Matthew Hollon took a report of a Cash App scam in the 100 block of South First Street.
According to the report, Melissa Kester-Wilson stated she purchased two items on July 29 from an individual on Facebook for $45 and never received the items.
Kester-Wilson reportedly stated she attempted to get the suspect to refund her money, but was unsuccesful.
According to the report, Kester-Wilson also provided officers with more identifying information about the suspect, but Hollon was unable to make contact with the suspect.
September 26 - Malicious injury/destruction of property.
Officer Kyle Svoboda responded to a report of vandalism at West Admire Avenue and North Eighth Street.
According to the report, Robert Scammahorn stated his company truck owned by MMS Construction had been vandalized.
Svoboda said in his report that he observed the windshield and two side windows had been shattered and large rocks located inside the truck appeared to have been used to break the windows.
Svoboda took photographs of the damage and examined the scene for evidence, the report said.
The reported damage was $1,200.
Officer Dustin Brodrick assisted with the investigation.
September 26 - Bur- second degree.
Sergeant Charles Trout responded to a report of burglary in the 600 block of West Bowman.
Hector Saucedo reportedly stated he discovered a back door had been damaged and entry had been gained into the residence, but nothing appeared to be missing.
Trout said in his report that he observed damage to the door and took photographs at the scene.
October 2 - No driver’s license.
Officer Kyle Svoboda said in his report that he observed a vehicle on U.S. 81 without the headlights illuminated and Sergeant Charles Trout “flagged them down telling them to turn their headlights on.”
According to the report, the 26-year-old male driver was driving without a valid driver’s license and was arrested and transported to the Kingfisher County Criminal Justice Center.
October 3 - Malicious injury/destruction of property.
Captain Travis Gray responded to a report of vandalism in the 200 block of South Eighth Street.
Lindy Peterman reportedly stated a vehicle at her residence had been vandalized and a window was broken.
Gray said in his report that he observed the broken window and collected two rocks, one on the hood and the other inside the vehicle, which presumably had been used to cause the damage.
Gray also took photographs of the vehicle, the report said.
October 5 - Possession of dangerous drugs prohibited.
Officer Kyle Svoboda said in his report that he assisted Officer Aaron Schlegel on a traffic stop at 13th Street and Wyatt Avenue.
As Schlegel placed the driver under arrest and prepared to impound the vehicle, a 69-year-old female passenger requested transportation, the report said.
Svoboda said in his report that he agreed to provide transportation to the individual’s residence, but first requested to search her purse for any illegal substance.
According to the report, a small clear plastic baggie containing a crystal-like substance (which later field tested positive for methamphetamine) was located in the purse.
The suspect was placed under arrest for possession of methamphetamine and transported to the Kingfisher County Criminal Justice Center.
Sergeant Charles Trout assisted with the investigation.
October 5 - Malicious injury to property-over $1,000.
Officer Dustin Brodrick responded to a report of property damage in the area of Eighth Street and Admire Avenue.
Brodrick said in his report that he made contact with Klint Rother, who directed the officer to a Volvo Mini X which had a broken back window.
Brodrick located “a large piece of brick” used to cause the damage, the report said.
Brodrick took photographs of the damage.
The reported value of the damage was $2,500.
October 5 - Altering title, registration, license plate or decal, no insurance, driving with license canceled/ suspended/revoked and receiving and/or concealing stolen property.
Officer Aaron Schlegel said in his report that he observed a northbound 1999 Ford Explorer on U.S. 81, which dispatch informed him the tag had been stolen from a 2001 Chevrolet.
According to the report, Schlegel initiated a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, who was driving without a driver’s license or insurance.
Schlegel said in his report that he collected the stolen tag and was informed by dispatch that the decal was also stolen.
The 40-year-old male driver was placed under arrest for affixing license plate/decal with intent to conceal identity, failure to comply with the compulsory insurance law, operating a motor vehicle while driver’s license is suspended and knowingly concealing stolen property and transported to the Kingfisher County Criminal Justice Center.
Officers performed an inventory of the vehicle and it was impounded, according to the report.
