KPD investigates recent reports
The Kingfisher Police Department has investigated or responded to the following reports:
September 15 - No driver’s license, possession of dangerous drugs prohibited and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Sergeant Charles Trout said in his report that he observed a northbound vehicle on U.S. 81 with an inoperable headlight and initiated a traffic stop.
According to the report, the 37-year-old male driver was driving without a valid driver’s license.
Officers received permission to search the vehicle and located a liquid-filled syringe in the passenger’s purse, the report said.
The suspect reportedly admitted the syringe belonged to him and was “loaded with methamphetamine.”
The suspect was issued a warning for the defective headlight and placed under arrest for driving without a driver’s license, possession of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of drug paraphernalia and transported to the Kingfisher County Criminal Justice Center.
Officers Aaron Schlegel and Justin Conner assisted with the investigation.
September 16 - Malicious injury/destruction of property.
Sergeant Justin Trumbley responded to a report of an attempted burglary in the 200 block of East Toronto.
According to the report, Trumbley observed damage to the front and back door deadbolt locks as well as handprints on two windows at the residence.
Trumbley said in his report he attempted to gather DNA evidence from the windows.
September 19 - Uttering forged instruments.
Officer Matthew Hollon responded to a report of counterfeit money at Walmart, 200 W. Starlite Drive.
According to the report, an asset protection employee stated the incident took place Aug. 21 and a male suspect used 10 counterfeit $20 bills and two authentic $20 bills to make a purchase.
Hollon said in his report that he reviewed surveillance footage of the incident, but the suspect “had a hat pulled down low and a mask that was blocking his face.”
September 21 - Domestic abuse assault and battery.
Officer Justin Conner responded possible domestic incident in the 700 block of South Third St.
Sergeant Justin Trumbley assisted with the investigation.
September 22 - Larceny of merchandise from retailer.
Officer Aaron Schlegel responded to a report of theft at Walmart, 200 W. Starlite Drive.
According to the report, an asset protection employee stated a 22-year-old female suspect exchanged price tags on items and then proceeded through the self-checkout lane.
The suspect reportedly admitted to exchanging price tags on items of clothing and toys.
The reported value of stolen items was $158.34 without tax.
Schlegel said in his report that he would be seeking a warrant for the suspect’s arrest for larceny of merchandise from a retailer.
