KPD investigates traffic accidents

The following traffic accidents are being investigated by the Kingfisher Police Department:

October 16, 11:30 a.m. - At 1015 S. Main St.

A 17-year-old male, Kingfisher, driving a 2021 Kia, was stopped in the drive-thru lane of KFC/ Taco Bell.

Laura Fike, 62, Kingfisher, driving a 2017 Nissan, was directly behind the 17-year-old’s vehicle.

According to the report, the Fike vehicle struck the rear of the 17-year-old’s vehicle.

Minor damage was reported to both vehicles. No injuries were reported.

Officer Ryan Gibson investigated the accident.

October 20, 9:45 a.m. - At U.S. 81 and Victory Lane.

Tommy Eakins, 69, Thomas, driving a 2004 Mercury, was eastbound on Victory Lane, had crossed southbound U.S. 81 and was stopped in the center crossover attempting to make a left turn onto northbound U.S. 81.

According to the report, a semi-truck and trailer was westbound on Victory Lane (on the east side of U.S. 81), entered the cross-over and attempted to make a left turn onto southbound U.S. 81 and the trailer struck the Eakins vehicle.

The semi-truck continued southbound and did not stop at the scene of the accident.

Minor damage was reported to the Eakins vehicle and unknown damage to the semi-truck. No injuries were reported.

Officer Dustin Brodrick investigated the accident.

October 21, 2:57 p.m. - At U.S. 81 and Overstreet Avenue.

Misty O’Dell-Rojas, 44, Kingfisher, driving a 2020 Toyota, was southbound in the inside lane of U.S. 81 and was attempting to make a left turn into Sonic, 1201 S. Main St.

Deborah Swallow, 37, Kingfisher, driving a 2006 Dodge Challenger, was exiting Sonic and turned into the inside lane of southbound U.S. 81 and struck the O’Dell-Rojas vehicle in the rear.

Minor damage was reported to both vehicles. No injuries were reported.
