KPD investigating multiple reports
The Kingfisher Police Department has investigated or responded to the following reports:
March 26 - Public intoxication.
Officer Kyle Svoboda responded to a report of an individual walking along South 13th Street at approximately 1 a.m.
The reporting party stated the individual appeared to stumble or lunge in front of her vehicle as she drove past, according to the report.
Svoboda said in his report that he made contact with the 37-year-old female who appeared to exhibit signs of intoxication.
The suspect was placed under arrest for public intoxication and transported to the Kingfisher County Criminal Justice Center.
Officer Christopher Mc-Daniel assisted with the investigation.
March 25 - Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Officer Derek Grassman said in his report that he observed a northbound vehicle on U.S. 81 traveling in excess of the speed limit and he initiated a traffic stop.
According to the report, the 44-year-old male driver appeared to exhibit signs of intoxication and field sobriety tests were performed.
Grassman placed the suspect under arrest for driving under the influence of alcohol and transported him to the Kingfisher County Criminal Justice Center.
The suspect was issued a citation for speeding and another for driving under the influence.
Lieutenant Dustin Brodrick and Officers Matthew Hollon and Christopher McDaniel assisted with the investigation.
April 2 - Petit larceny.
Officer Kyle Svoboda responded to a report of theft at Dollar General, 1305 S. Main St.
According to the report, a 22-year-old female suspect was observed on surveillance footage removing an item from a shelf, which she appeared to then place in her pocket.
The store alarm sounded as the suspect exited the store and an employee asked her, “if she had anything she needed to pay for,” but the suspect proceeded to her vehicle and drove away, the report said.
Officers were able to determine the identity of the suspect and made contact with her at her residence, according to the report.
Svoboda said in his report the suspect admitted to taking headphones without paying for them and offered to pay for them.
Svoboda said he followed the suspect to the store, where she paid for the stolen merchandise, according to the report.
Store management then issued the suspect a trespass order banning her from entering the store in the future, the report said.
