KPD investigating reports
The Kingfisher Police Department has investigated or responded to the following reports: May 12 - Driving with license canceled/suspended/ revoked and no insurance.
Officer Aaron Schlegel said in his report he observed a vehicle with a defective third brake light make an improper turn onto southbound U.S. 81 and he initiated a traffic stop.
According to the report, the 36-year-old male driver was driving with a revoked license and no insurance.
Schlegel issued warnings for the improper left turn and defective brake light and citations for operating a motor vehicle while driver’s license is revoked and failure to comply with the compulsory insurance law.
The suspect was placed under arrest and transported to the Kingfisher County Criminal Justice Center.
The vehicle was inventoried and towed.
May 14 - Larceny of merchandise from retailer.
Officer Justin Conner responded to a report of theft at Dollar General, 1305 S. Main St.
According to the report, the manager stated a female subject had stolen items from the store and she provided the officer with photographs and the last name of the suspect.
Conner said he made contact with the 28-year-old female suspect at her residence on May 17 and she informed him that she had returned to the store and paid for the items and was now trespassed from Dollar General.
Conner confirmed with the manager that the suspect had paid for the items and was trespassed, the report said.
May 18 - Complaint.
Officer Aaron Schlegel responded to a report of possible property damage at 1213 S. Main St.
According to the report, an Atwood’s employee stated a vehicle struck a handicap pole in the parking lot.
Schlegel said in his report that he made contact with the 44-year-old female driver and observed yellow paint from the pole on the vehicle’s front and rear passenger doors.
The sign, which should have been attached to the top of the pole, was missing, the report said.
Schlegel reviewed surveillance footage of the incident and took photographs of the damage to the vehicle and the handicap pole which didn’t appear to have any damage, according to the report.
Schlegel stated in his report that the vehicle made an improper turn when it “cut across the parking space and struck the pole.”
May 21 - Driving with license canceled/suspended/ revoked.
Officer Derek Grassmann said in his report that he observed a northbound vehicle on U.S. 81 traveling at a rate of speed above the posted limit and initiated a traffic stop.
According to the report, the 21-year-old male driver was driving with a revoked driver’s license.
The driver was placed under arrest for driving with a revoked driver’s license and transported to the Kingfisher County Criminal Justice Center.
The vehicle was released to a family member, the report said.
Officer Jarred Tech assisted with the investigation.
May 24 - Driving with license canceled/suspended/ revoked.
Officer Kyle Svoboda said in his report that he observed a southbound vehicle on U.S. 81 with inoperable rear lights and initiated a traffic stop.
According to the report, the 37-year-old male driver was driving without a valid driver’s license.
The driver was placed under arrest for driving with license canceled/suspended/ revoked and transported to the Kingfisher County Criminal Justice Center.
The officer conducted an inventory of the vehicle and it was towed.
May25-Frauds,cheats, false pretenses, and false personations over $1,000.
Myrna Richards reportedly stated fraudulent purchases were made on her Amazon account using her Amazon credit card.
According to the report, two iPads were purchased, one on May 10 and the other on May 12, and delivered to an address in Fort Washington, Md.
The reported value of each iPad was $529.99.
Richards also made a report with the Fort Washington Police Department, the report said.
May 25 - Enter structure with certain intent- break and enter.
Captain Travis Gray and Officer Aaron Schlegel responded to a report of vandalism at CHS, 502 E. Admire Avenue.
According to the report, the CHS site manager stated two locks were cut off of a grain elevator, but nothing appeared to be missing or damaged.
A set of bolt cutters was also located near the scene, which was photographed and collected as evidence, according to the report.
The locks were also collected as evidence, the report said.
May 26 - Malicious injury/ destruction of property.
Officer Matthew Hollon responded to a report of property damage in the 200 block of East Miles Avenue.
According to the report, Erik Stutts stated he noticed his mailbox had been damaged when he returned home from work.
Hollon investigated the scene and photographed the damaged mailbox, the report said.
May 27 - Larceny of merchandise from retailer.
Officer Christopher Mc-Daniel responded to a report of theft at Walmart, 200 W. Starlite Drive.
According to the report, the Walmart asset protection manager stated the 33-year-old male suspect was observed scanning only a portion of the products in his shopping cart at the self-checkout.
The manager said the customer was switched to a different register and continued to scan only some of the items before completing the purchase, according to the report.
McDaniel reviewed the surveillance footage of the incident and was provided a receipt of the items which were not scanned totaling $193.41, the report said.
May 28 - Malicious injury/ destruction of property.
Officer Matthew Hollon responded to a report of vandalism in the 400 block of South Seventh Street.
Mark Perry reportedly stated he discovered an American flag which had been attached on his porch was lying in the hedges, his vehicle’s driver’s side mirror and front bumper broken and the rear tire of his lawn mower removed.
Hollon examined the scene and photographed the damage, the report said.
May 29 - Larceny of service station gasoline- pump piracy.
Lieutenant Dustin Brodrick responded to a report of gasoline theft at Stop N Go, 1005 S. Main St.
According to the report, the gas station attendant stated that she had turned on the gas pump for a male customer and, after he pumped gas into his vehicle, the individual drove away without paying for the fuel.
The reported value of the fuel was $53.67.
May 30 - Identity theft.
Sergeant Charles Trout took a report of identity theft in the 600 block of West Chisholm Drive.
According to the report, Barbara Baker stated she received a notification that her Social Security number had been used in an attempt to obtain unemployment benefits.
Baker reported that she is employed with Kingfisher Public Schools and the fraudulent claim was made from an individual residing in West Columbia, S.C.
May 31 - Protective order violation.
Officer Jarred Tech took a report of a protective order violation in the 100 block of South Fifth Street.
June 1 - Public intoxication.
Officer Justin Conner responded to a report of a possibly intoxicated individual in the area of Seventh Street and West Don Blanding Avenue.
According to the report, a known 44-year-old male was observed falling off his bicycle multiple times.
Conner said in his report that the suspect appeared to exhibit signs of intoxication and admitted to drinking alcohol and smoking marijuana that day. The suspect was placed under arrest for public intoxication and transported to the Kingfisher County Criminal Justice Center.
Officer Aaron Schlegel assisted with the investigation.
June 1 - Petit larceny.
Officer Aaron Schlegel responded to a report of theft at 33 Corner Store, 723 W. Broadway Ave.
According to the report, a City of Kingfisher employee stated a gas can containing gasoline was stolen from the back of a city vehicle.
The reported value of the gas can was $55 and the fuel inside was $70.
