The Kingfisher Police Department has investigated or responded to the following reports: November 12 - Warrant, possession of controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of controlled dangerous substance within 1,000 feet of school/park/minor under 12 years old.

Officer Derek Grassman said in his report that he and Officer Christopher McDaniel entered Love’s Country Store, 203 S. Main St., in order to serve a misdemeanor warrant to a 50-year-old male employee.

According to the report, the officers located the suspect and while attempting to place him under arrest, the suspect was observed trying to conceal an empty Chapstick tube containing a bag with two large crystal-like rocks inside and another bag containing crystal-like substance (both field tested positive for methamphetamines).

In the suspect’s backpack, officers also discovered drug paraphernalia, the report said.

Officers obtained a search warrant for the suspect’s residence at Cattlemen’s Inn and a 48-year-old female was also residing at the location, according to the report.

At the residence, officers located several baggies containing crystal-like substances including a bundle weighing 1.9 grams, which field tested positive for methamphetamine, as well as prescription medication for another individual, the report said.

According to the report, both suspects were placed under arrest for possession of controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school, park or minor under the age of 12 in addition to the warrant for the male suspect.

The female suspect was transported to Mercy Hospital Kingfisher where she was cleared for incarceration prior to being trans ported to the Kingfisher County Criminal Justice Center.

November 13 - Animal cruelty.

Officer Matthew Hollen took a report of animal cruelty in the 1300 block of South 12th Place.

According to the report, an individual said that he had noticed injuries to his dog and suspected his roommate might be responsible.

After setting up video surveillance, the reporting party said he observed his roommate “torturing and tormenting the dog on multiple occasions,” according to the report.

Hollon said in his report that he reviewed video footage and was able to observe the 28-year-old male suspect abusing and tormenting the dog in multiple ways over a period of approximately 62 minutes (on Aug. 9, 2023).

According to the report, Hollon went to the suspect’s workplace and when he confronted him about the alleged abuse, the suspect admitted to the abuse, saying, “What I did was wrong. I know it was wrong and I take full responsibility for it.”
