The Kingfisher Police Department has investigated or responded to the following reports: December 30 - Planning or threatening a violent act.

Officer Kyle Svoboda responded to a report of a customer causing a disturbance at Love’s, 201 S. Main St.

According to the report, a 39-year-old male suspect repeatedly reached over the sandwich counter while ordering a sandwich, despite an employee instructing him to refrain from doing so.

The suspect then attempted to go behind the counter and was told to leave the store, the report said.

According to the report, the suspect left the store, but then attempted to reenter the store and allegedly made threatening statements to an employee.

Officers made contact with the suspect at a residence, the report said.

December 31 - Leaving the scene of an accident/ unattended vehicle.

Officer Justin Conner responded to a report of a hit and run accident in the 100 block of East Miles Avenue.

According to the report, a 77-year-old male driver was eastbound on East Miles Avenue and struck a vehicle legally parked on the south side of the street.

The suspect reportedly stopped, but then left the scene, the report said.

Officers located the suspect at a nearby business and made contact with him regarding the incident, according to the report.

Captain Dustin Brodrick and Officer Quinton Cline assisted with the investigation.

January 3 - Operate/ APC vehicle under the influence of intoxicating substance and transporting intoxicating beverage or low-point beer.

Officer Steven Renbarger said in his report that he observed a northbound vehicle on U.S. 81 failing to maintain its lane and he initiated a traffic stop.

According to the report, the 59-year-old male driver appeared to exhibit signs of intoxication and field sobriety tests were performed.

The suspect was placed under arrest for driving under the influence, the report said.

Upon inventory of the suspect’s vehicle, an opened Coor’s Light can with a liquid inside was located between the driver’s and passenger’s seat, according to the report.

The suspect was transported to the Kingfisher County Criminal Justice Center and charged with driving under the influence and transporting an open container.
