The Kingfisher Police Department has investigated or responded to the following reports:

July 9 - Failure to wear seat belt, expired license plates, no insurance, driving with license canceled/suspended/revoked, minor in possession of tobacco, possession of dangerous drugs prohibited-marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Officer Aaron Schlegel said in his report that he was on patrol in the area of Seventh Street and Don Blanding Avenue when he observed a 2001 Buick with an expired tag and the driver was not wearing a seatbelt.

According to the report, Schlegel initiated a traffic stop and the 18-year-old male driver stated his driver’s license was suspended and he was unsure if the vehicle had insurance because he was not the owner.

Schlegel placed the driver under arrest for operating a motor vehicle while driver’s license is suspended.

The driver was also issued citations for failure to wear safety belt, operating a motor vehicle on which all taxes due to state have not been paid, failure to comply with the compulsory insurance law, operating a motor vehicle while driver’s license is suspended and minor in possession of tobacco, according to the report.

Officer Justin Conner transported the suspect to the Kingfisher County Criminal Justice Center.

According to the report, Schlegel performed an inventory of the vehicle and seized two partial marijuana joints and a cylinder marijuana grinder.

A sample of one of the marijuana joints was field tested and produced a positive result for marijuana, according to the report.

After determining the suspect did not have a medical marijuana card, Schlegel said in his report that charges of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia were added.

July 9 - Petit larceny.

Officer Aaron Schlegel took a report of theft in the 1000 block of Ridge Drive.

Terry Schimmels reportedly stated he and his grandson had left two bicycles in the driveway of his residence overnight and the following morning he discovered one of them was missing.

According to the report, the missing bicycle is a purple Schwinn 10-speed and valued at $200.
