As many as nine new full-time staff members could be hired when the Kingfisher Board of Education holds its final meeting of the fiscal year.

The board will gather Tuesday as it wraps up the 2020-21 fiscal year.

On the agenda are several bookkeeping items, but also a plethora of hires.

That includes a new assistant principal at the high school.

The position opened when Jay Wood took over as principal at the board’s June 7 meeting.

Other positions that could be hired include: KHS science teacher, alternative education teacher, KMS P.E. teacher, Heritage paraprofessional, Heritage secretary, Gilmour library teacher assistant, Gilmour teacher assistant/cashier and 21st Century Grant director.

There’s also an item to hire more part-time summer maintenance employees.

A number of resignations are also expected to be accepted during the meeting, which begins at 7 p.m. at the KHS cafeteria.
