The dress code for Kingfisher Public Schools students will once again be discussed at the next meeting of the board of education.

The board will hold its regular August meeting at 7 p.m. Monday at the KHS cafeteria.

An updated, gender-neutral dress code was presented to the board by KPS administration during the July meeting.

However, the board voted 3-1 to revisit the dress code after concerns were raised about some of the code not being stringent enough when it came to the length of shorts.

Also on the agenda are items for discussion in executive session and a possible vote on salaries for extra duties and support staff.

The executive session also calls for the board to discuss up to 20 new hires.

Included are six teachers, a child nutrition director, two counselors, two secretaries, an assistant reading specialist, three teacher assistants, two paraprofessionals, a custodian and a maintenance assistant.

The board will also vote to update the district calendar, moving an outof-school date from April 22 to April 15 and to also set graduation for May 21.

Among other items on the agenda are votes to approve additional fundraisers for multiple groups, four annual contracts for various services provided to the district and a resolution to transcript a variety of courses taught at Chisholm Trail Technology Center.

As always, there is an item that allows for public participation at the beginning of the meeting.
