HONOR BAND – Several Kingfi sher band students were selected to one of three Red Carpet Honor Bands and recently performed a concert at Woodward High School along with 300 students from 40 schools in northwest Oklahoma. High school students selected were (top photo) Colton Livingston, KC Ortega, Caleb Meadors, Gracie Fuksa, and Livia Varnell. They were directed by Wayne Bovenschen of Oklahoma State University. Selected to the eighth and ninth grade band were (photo second from top) Noah Clayton, Mateo Arita, and Kayla Ortega. They were led by Jenn Kaufman, Blanchard director. Landon Zingg, Lena Webb and Kaitlee Martin (also in photo second from top) earned chairs in the seventh grade band conducted by Adrian Gomez (bottom right photo), former Kingfi sher band director and alum. Also, Mandy Owens the Kingfi sher band director, was honored after being chosen as the 2025 Red Carpet Honor Band Director of the Year.
