Kylie Hood named Distinguished YW
Kylie Hood, second from left, the daughter of Shane and Janet Hood, was named Kingfisher County Distinguished Young Woman 2024 at the annual scholarship program Sunday in Kingfisher. Hood also won the Scholastic, Interview and Self-Expression categories, each of which also includes a cash scholarship. Other award winners included first runner-up Remington Boutwell, third from left, the daughter of Dana Boutwell and the late Donovan Boutwell; Peyton Walker, far left, daughter of Charles and Julie Walker, second runner-up, and Libbie Barnett, far right, daughter of Fay and Tiffanie Barnett, Fitness award winner. Boutwell also won the Peoples’ Choice and Spirit of Distinguished Young Women awards and Walker won the Talent and Be Your Best Self awards. All of the awards include cash scholarships, largely sponsored by local businesses and organizations. All four finalists are juniors at Kingfisher High School. (The “2024” in the DYW title corresponds to participants’ high school graduation year.) Other county high school juniors participating in Sunday’s program included Abby Swart, Lomega High School, and Chloe Blair, ZayLynn Lopez, Breonna Mc-Connell and Raechel Evans, all KHS students.
