Kingfisher County Extension hosted a cooking workshop for local students ages 8-18 and enrolled in 4-H.

The six-hour workshop was held July 1 at the Kingfisher County Fairgrounds.

Lindy Peterman, the FCS educator, was the instructor and provided materials for the class.

“The goal of this workshop was to make products to enter in the county fair,” Peterman said.

The 4-Hers learned how to make homemade cinnamon rolls, snickerdoodle cookies, biscuits, chocolate chip cookies and a bonus recipe of peanut butter cookies.

“All of the youth chose their items for the fair and then took home the extras,” Peterman said. “All of the chosen fair items were tagged, packaged and placed in the freezer to be ready for fair time.”

There were eight participants and one teen ambassador at the workshop.

“Each participant had a lot of fun learning about how to make homemade goodies and the process to make them,” Peterman said.
