Local car accident injures 1
A Dover woman was flown to an Oklahoma City hospital, but eventually treated and released after a local accident last week.
Summer Jade Free, 43, was treated for undisclosed injuries Wednesday at OU Medical Center, according to a report from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
The report said Free was driving 1999 Ford Explorer in the northbound lanes of U.S. Highway 81 when she departed the roadway to the right about 1.6 miles south of Kingfisher.
The vehicle over-corrected back onto the highway and then back into the east ditch. It rolled one complete time before coming to a rest, according to the report filed by Trooper Jeff Jech.
It added that Free was pinned in the vehicle before being extricated by members of the Kingfisher Fire Department and the Kingfisher and Okarche EMS units.
Free was then flown by a medical helicopter to Oklahoma City before being released.
The cause of the accident, which occurred at about 2 p.m., is still under investigation, the report said.
