Local city, school races on Tuesday ballots
2 seats on Kingfisher City Commission, 3 county school board positions up for grabs
Polls will be open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday to decide a number of city and school races in Kingfisher County.
In Kingfisher, two seats on the city commission are up for grabs.
One is for an unexpired term of one year.
The seat is currently held by Kaci Farrar, who is running to again fill that seat.
Running against her is Jeff Wittrock.
The other seat is for a full term.
Incumbent Kyle Mecklenburg is running for re-election against Dyamonique McCarty. Board of education seats at three county school districts will be decided.
In Hennessey, incumbent Amy Charmasson is running against Doyle Miller.
Incumbent Cortney Fuston seeks re-election on the Dover school board and is being challenged by Jake Terrell.
Okarche incumbent Ryan McIlvain also seeks re-election and is running against John Wayne Pinkerton.
There is no school board election in Kingfisher as Charles Walker, the current board president, was the lone person to file.
Seats in school districts outside of the county - but with voters inside of Kingfisher County - include board election seats in Crescent, Piedmont and Canadian Valley Technology Center.
Sample ballots are available using the State Election Board’s OK Voter Portal at oklahoma. gov/ elections/ ovp or by picking up a copy at the Kingfisher County Election Board office (101 S. Main St., Kingfisher, Room 8) during normal business hours.
County Election Board Secretary Shawna Butts reminds voters that sample ballots are specific to each person.
“If the OK Voter Portal indicates that you have no sample ballots available, it means you are not eligible to vote in an upcoming election,” Butts said. “We recommend checking the OK Voter Portal to make sure you have an election before heading to the polls.”
Butts said sample ballots will also be posted outside every precinct polling place on Election Day so voters can review them before casting their votes.
