Local hospital listed among best in nation

By

Two area hospitals were listed among the top 20 highest-ranked critical access hospitals in the country for quality best practices, as determined by the Chartis Center for Rural Health.

Mercy Hospital Kingfisher and Mercy Hospital Logan County in Guthrie were both on the best practices for quality list announced by the National Rural Health Association.

The designation is based on a rating of hospital performance across rural-relevant process of care measures.

“NRHA is committed to ensuring our members have the best information to manage their hospitals,” says Brock Slabach, NRHA chief operations officer. “We’re pleased to recognize the accomplishments of these rural hospitals.”

The two area hospitals are among five Oklahoma rural hospitals that made the top 20 list for best quality practices, which also included Mercy Hospital Tishomingo, Harper County Community Hospital in Buffalo and Jefferson County Hospital in Waurika.

NRHA is a nonprofit organization working to improve the health and well-being of rural Americans and provide leadership on rural health issues through advocacy, communications, education and research.
