A Dover man requested help from Kingfisher County commissioners to alleviate flooding issues at his property that he says has caused major damage to his home multiple times.

Jeremy Ingle, who lives northeast of Dover, addressed the commission at its regular weekly meeting last Monday.

“The main culprit is this 36-inch water culvert,” he said as he handed commissioners photos of a lease road east of his property that leads to a pad owned by Chisholm Oil and Gas.

“Obviously water won’t go through it.”

The culvert, he said, was damaged and when heavy rains fall, it causes water to back up at that point and then onto his property, eventually into his basement.

Ingle said the heat and air unit in the basement has been destroyed twice and septic also backs up into the basement.

Ingle, who was present with his wife, Monica, and their children, said he attempted to work with the oilfield company, but it is now in bankruptcy.

“We were told perhaps coming to you would have more pull,” Monica Ingle added.

The Ingles’ property falls in Ray Shimanek’s district.

“We’ll see what we can do to help you out,” Shimanek said as he looked at the photos. “If there’s something we can do to help that’s a pretty easy fix, we’ll do our best.”

It was suggested the Ingles also address the local office of the Oklahoma Corporation Commission.

Also during the 17-minute meeting, commissioners voted to approve:

• Accepting a donation of 4,820 yards of shale from Best Pit for District 1;

• Disposing of a 2002 Mack truck that belonged to District 2. The truck had previously been struck by a train in Dover;

• Signing an engagement letter for Arbitrage Compliance Service on the $9 million revenue bond series from 2018 for the Kingfisher County Criminal Justice Authority. The fee for the service is $1,750;

• An access drive installation for MarkWest Oklahoma Gas Company with an 18-inch culvert in District 3;

• A 12-inch permanent natural gas line for Mark-West Energy Operating Company four miles east and four north of Okarche in District 1.
