Local traffic accidents

The following traffic accidents are being investigated by the Kingfisher Police Department: April 13, 4:20 p.m. - At 207 S. Seventh St.

Laura Fike, 64, Kingfisher, driving a 2006 Dodge, was parked in the driveway at 207 S. Seventh St.

Kandee Penwright, 58, Kingfisher, driving a 2009 Toyota Corolla, was parked directly behind the Fike vehicle.

According to the report, the Fike vehicle backed up and struck the Penwright vehicle.

Schlegel said in his report that the Fike vehicle had been purchased in January and did not have a tag or insurance and was still registered in the previous owner’s name.

The homeowner reportedly stated that he did not want the vehicle on his property and it was towed.

Minor damage was reported to the Penwright vehicle and no damage to the Fike vehicle.

No injuries were reported.

Officer Aaron Schlegel investigated the accident. April 20, 7:53 a.m. - At Chisholm and U.S. 81.

Ruben Casillas-Lopez, 26, Enid, driving a 2022 Dodge Ram 3500 towing a trailer, was northbound in the inside lane of U.S. 81.

Jimmy Barton, 80, Kingfi sher, driving a 2022 Dodge Ram 1500, was eastbound in the parking lot of 1500 S. Main St.

According to the report, the Barton vehicle attempted to turn left onto northbound U.S. 81 and struck the Lopez trailer.

Minor damage was reported to the Barton vehicle and unknown damage to the Lopez vehicle and trailer.

No injuries were reported.

Captain Travis Gray investigated the accident.

April 22, 4 p.m. - At West Starlite Drive and U.S. 81.

Anita Hendrix, 66, Kingfi sher, driving a 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee, was eastbound in the Walmart parking lot, 200 W. Starlite Drive.

Kathy Bell, 69, Kingfisher, driving a Dodge passenger van, was backing out of a parking space and struck the Hendrix vehicle.

Minor damage was reported to both vehicles.

No injuries were reported.

Officer Christopher Mc-Daniel investigated the accident.

April 25, 1:46 p.m. - At S.H. 33 and South Sixth Street.

Gregory Beam, 52, Edmond, driving a 2019 Ford F150, was eastbound on S.H. 33 near the South Sixth Street intersection.

Clifton Verhines, 93, Kingfisher, driving a 2009 Chevrolet, was northbound on South Sixth Street.

According to the report, the Verhines vehicle attempted to turn left onto S.H. 33, failed to yield and was struck by the Beam vehicle.

Disabling damage was reported to both vehicles.

Beam sustained possible trunk and arm injuries and Verhines possible unknown injuries.

Verhines was transported to Mercy Hospital Kingfisher for evaluation and Beam refused treatment, but stated he would possibly seek treatment when he returned home, according to the report.
