Local traffic accidents

The following traffic accidents are being investigated by the Kingfisher Police Department:

July 6, 9:25 p.m. - At S.H. 33 and 10th Street.

A 17-year-old male, Kingfisher, driving a 2011 Chevrolet, was eastbound on S.H. 33 and stopped for an individual lying in the roadway.

Sharon Lacy, 75, Canton, driving a 2020 Nissan Rogue, was eastbound on S.H. 33 and stopped behind the 17-year-old’s vehicle.

According to the report, the 17-year-old’s vehicle attempted to back up and struck the Lacy vehicle.

Minor damage was reported to the Lacy vehicle and unknown damage to the 17-year-old’s vehicle.

No injuries were reported.

Officer Justin Conner investigated the accident.

July 12, 11:20 a.m. - At U.S. 81 and Wyatt Avenue.

Gregory States, 53, Dover, driving a 2020 Chevrolet Silverado, was southbound in the inside lane of U.S. 81.

Jason Lawhorn, 43, Guthrie, driving a 2015 Ford Fusion, was southbound in the outside lane of U.S. 81.

According to the report, the States vehicle attempted to merge into the outside lane and struck the Lawhorn vehicle in the driver’s side.

Minor damage was reported to both vehicles.

No injuries were reported.

Officer Justin Trumbley investigated the accident.

July 18, 2:13 p.m. - At U.S. 81 and West Toronto Avenue.

Florencia Perez, 39, Kingfisher, driving a 2021 Hyundai, was northbound in the inside lane of U.S. 81.

Marcelyn Yarbrough, 51, Kingfisher, driving a 2007 GMC, was southbound in the outside lane of U.S. 81.

According to the report, the Perez vehicle attempted to make a left turn onto West Toronto Avenue and failed to yield to the Yarbrough vehicle, which struck the Perez vehicle in the passenger side.

Functional damage was reported to the Perez vehicle and disabling damage to the Yarbrough vehicle.

No injuries were reported.
