Local traffic accidents
The following traffic accidents are being investigated by the Kingfisher Police Department:
August 17, 11:54 a.m. At 1609 S. Main St. Luis Castillo, 26, Oklahoma City, driving a 2005 Dodge S1T, was stopped in the parking lot of Jacket Express, 1609 S. Main St., waiting to merge onto U.S. 81. Dennis Rempe, 62, Kingfisher, driving a 2017 Dodge Ram 1500, was stopped directly behind the Castillo vehicle. According to the report, the Castillo vehicle pulled forward, but then backed up and struck the Rempe vehicle. Minor damage was reported to the Rempe vehicle and no damage to the Castillo vehicle. No injuries were reported. Officer Justin Conner investigated the accident.
September 5, 5:06 p.m At U.S. 81 and S.H. 33. Alexandria Leniger, 20, Kingfisher, driving a 2011 Buick UXL, was northbound on U.S. 81 and stopped at the traffic signal at the S.H. 33 intersection. Marla Pringnitz, 59, Kingfisher, driving a 2023 Jeep Wagoneer, was also northbound on U.S. 81 and stopped directly behind the Leniger vehicle. According to the report, the Pringnitz vehicle proceeded forward and struck the Leniger vehicle in the rear. Minor damage was reported to both vehicles. No injuries were reported. September 8, 9:15 p.m. - At 200 W. Starlite Drive. Cy Smith, 48, Kingfisher, driving a 2017 Dodge Ram 2500, was parked in a southbound parking space at Walmart, 200 W. Starlite Drive. Christopher Cannon, 53, Kingfisher, driving a 1998 Dodge 1500, was westbound in the parking lot. According to the report, the Cannon vehicle veered to the left, struck the Smith vehicle and left the scene. Minor damage was reported to both vehicles. No injuries were reported. Officer Steven Renbarger investigated the accident.
