Local traffic accidents
The following traffic accidents are being investigated by the Kingfisher Police Department:
May 30, 10:10 a.m. - At U.S. 81 and Toronto Avenue. — Shawn Kincheloe, 48, Kingfisher, driving a 2018 Freightliner M2 with street sweeper, was northbound in the outside lane of U.S. 81. Zulema Martinez, 62, Hennessey, driving a 2022 Nissan Rogue, was northbound on U.S. 81 directly behind the Kincheloe vehicle. According to the report, the Zulema vehicle struck the Kincheloe vehicle in the rear. Disabling damage was reported to both vehicles. No injuries were reported. Sergeant Charles Trout investigated the accident.
May 30, 11:15 a.m. - At 1001 Stonebriar Trail. — Max Gerber, 74, Kingfi sher, driving a 2016 Toyota Tundra, was southbound on Stonebrook Drive. According to the report, the Gerber vehicle attempted to follow the curve onto Stonebriar Trail and exited the roadway to the left, striking a mailbox. Functional damage was reported to the Gerber vehicle. No injuries were reported, but Gerber was transported by Kingfisher EMS to Mercy Hospital Kingfisher for evaluation, the report said. Sergeant Charles Trout investigated the accident.
June 5, 8:01 a.m. - At West Sheridan Avenue and U.S. 81. — A 16-year-old male, Calumet, driving a 2010 Toyota Corolla, was eastbound on West Sheridan Avenue and stopped at the intersection of U.S. 81. Richard Barrow, 57, Wister, driving a 1998 Kenworth, was southbound in the outside lane of U.S. 81. According to the report, the 16-year-old’s vehicle proceeded forward in an attempt to make a left turn onto U.S. 81 and struck the Barrow vehicle. Disabling damage was reported to the 16-yearold’s vehicle and minor damage to the Barrow vehicle. No injuries were reported. Officer Justin Conner investigated the accident.
