Local traffic accidents
The following traffic accidents are being investigated by the Kingfisher Police Department:
October 31, 5 p.m. - At 1500 S. 13th St.
A 17-year-old female, Kingfisher, driving a 2011 Ford, was attempting to exit Kingfisher High School, swerved to avoid an incoming vehicle and struck a fence pole.
Minor damage was reported to the 17-year-old’s vehicle.
No injuries were reported.
Sergeant Justin Trumbley investigated the accident.
November 7, 4:52 p.m. - At West Chisholm Drive and U.S. 81.
Kathleen Helms, 26, Piedmont, driving a 2006 Mercedes, was northbound in the inside lane of U.S. 81.
Michael Wilczek, 65, Kingfisher, driving a 2000 Dodge, was also northbound in the inside lane of U.S. 81.
According to the report, the Helms vehicle was stopped at the West Chisholm Drive intersection waiting for a vehicle to turn left onto Chisholm Drive and the Wilczek vehicle struck the Helms vehicle in the rear.
Functional damage was reported to both vehicles.
No injuries were reported.
Officer Matthew Hollon investigated the accident.
November 15, 6:53 p.m. - At 1500 S. 13th St.
Isaac Waltman, 23, Kingfi sher, driving a 2020 Chevrolet Colorado, was parked along the curb (in a designated fire zone) near the front entrance at Kingfisher High School.
Christopher Orozco Vega, 18, Kingfisher, driving a 2010 Ford, was parked in a parking space near the school entrance.
According to the report, the Orozco Vega vehicle backed out of the parking space and struck the Waltman vehicle.
Minor damage was reported to both vehicles.
No injuries were reported.
Officer Aaron Schlegel investigated the accident.
November 16, 9 a.m. - At West Overstreet Avenue and South Seventh Street.
Michael Ludwig, 43, Okarche, driving a 2008 Chevrolet (property of City of Kingfisher), was southbound on South Seventh Street and stopped near the intersection of West Overstreet Avenue.
Carolyn Flood, 83, Kingfi sher, driving a 2019 Jeep Renegade, backed out of her driveway on Seventh Street.
According to the report, Ludwig had stopped in the roadway to inform Flood that employees were working on an electric pole.
After Flood backed out of the driveway, she attempted to proceed forward onto Overstreet Avenue, but backed up quickly to avoid an oncoming vehicle and struck the Ludwig vehicle, the report said.
Minor damage was reported to both vehicles.
No injuries were reported.
