Lofton to aid in Devon SportsLab held at KUE
Athletes and staff from the University of Oklahoma (OU), including Kingfisher High School graduate Curtis Lofton, will teach fourth through eighth grade students about the science behind sports during the Devon SportsLab on Thursday, May 11.
Devon SportsLab is an interactive workshop that uses sports to teach science, technology, engineering and math – collectively known as STEM.
Fourth through eighth grade students are required to pre-register for the football and basketball sports clinics at Kingfisher Upper Elementary.
Football will be held 4 to 5:45 p.m. and the soccer session begins at 6 p.m.
Participants will be provided posters to collect autographs from the college athletes.
Registration for the clinics is required at https:// bit.ly/devonsportslab_kingfi sher.
The entire community is invited to watch the Devon SportsLab, play yard games, and enjoy a free dinner provided by Jet Specialty.
The community event is a partnership between Devon Energy, Engage Learning and OU to spark students’ interest in STEM through sports.
