Madeleine Pope of Lomega was the winner recently of the Oklahoma Association of Conservation Districts (OACD) Area 1 speech contest in Enid.

Pope, the daughter of Clay and Sarah Pope of Loyal, represented the Kingfisher County Conservation District in the Junior division of the contest.

She now advances to the state contest where she will go head-to-head with the other area winners in February.
