Lomega Lions recognize top students Myers, Ott during January gathering

Lomega High School’s fall 2022 Students of the Semester were reognized earlier this month at the Lomega Lions Club meeting.

Named to the honor were Madi Myers and Kelby Ott.

Myers is the daughter of Mike and Julie Myers.

She is active in basketball, track, cross country, Student Council and FFA.

Myers is a class valedictorian and has been named to the National Honor Society and Oklahoma Honor Society.

She is an Oklahoma Hall of Fame Scholarship recipient, Student of the Month, was a state FFA Proficiency Award winner and national finalist. She has played for two state championship basketball teams and another state runner-up and has been a part of academic state champion track and cross country teams.

Myers has been named to the Oklahoma Central Academic Conference all-conference team, serves as senior class president, FFA secretary and STUCO secretary.

She plans to attend Oklahoma State University and major in human nutrition/ pre-medical sciences and plans to attend medical school.

Ott is the son of John and Debra Ott.

He is active in basketball, FFA, STUCO, FCA, cross country and track.

His honors include National Honor Society, Oklahoma Honor Society, class valedictorian and Student of the Month.

He was named Mr. LHS earlier this year, is a state FFA Proficiency Award winner and has been named to the Cherokee Strip all-conference and academic all-conference teams.

He’s earned multiple awards in livestock judging contests and was a member of academic state champion basketball and track teams.

Ott is the FFA president, STUCO president, FCA president and is a member of the American Farmers and Ranchers Youth Advisory Council.

Ott plans to attend OSU and major in animal science with a pre-veterinary option.

They were introduced to the club by LHS Principal Cory Wilson.

Alex White of Sooner Cooperative served as the guest speaker for the meeting.
