Thunderstorms teased Kingfisher County Sunday evening and Monday but only light rain fell in isolated areas.

Kingfisher Weather Observer Steve Loftis reported a total of .31 inch of rain at the National Weather Service Station in Kingfisher. The Mesonet Station on the Mueggenborg farm at the west side of Kingfisher recorded .29 inch.

Other county reports included: Cashion – .25 inch at Cashion Grain and Feed Elevator.

Hennessey – .6 inch at CHS Elevator in Hennessey.

Okarche – .2 inch at the Okarche Grain and Feed Elevator.

However, Kristy Washington reported 4.58 inches at the Washington residence north of Calumet near the Canadian River in Canadian County. There were reports of three to five inches of rain at several points in the Calumet area.

Brilliant lightning lit the skies east of Kingfisher Sunday night but only sprinkles of rain were reported locally.

Mesonet rainfall reports included: Yukon 4.13 inches, Watonga .15 inch, Marshall 1.55 inches, Spencer 2.73 inches, El Reno .18 inch, Hinton .16 inch, Chandler 1.81 inches, 3.08 inches at Lake Carl Blackwell (near Stillwater) and Oklahoma City East 2.32 inches.

The Mesonet map showed light rain amounts for much of Oklahoma through Monday.

The local forecast called for mostly sunny skies Wednesday and Wednesday night, a slight chance of thunderstorms Thursday, sunny and mostly clear Friday with another chance of thunderstorms on Saturday.
