Lough is elected president of Hennessey school board
Hennessey businessman Luke Lough was elected president of the Hennessey Board of Education during the board’s regular meeting earlier this month
As is custom, the board played musical chairs and everyone moved up one spot at the board table as part of the reorganization process.
It’s business as usual for members to rotate the offices, but Lough has served two years as vice president.
That’s because of the resignation of Joe Garrison in 2021, then the appointment of then-outgoing president Dr. James Matthew Matousek to the board, who was re-elected president for another year.
The new vice president is two-term board member Cristopher Choate and the new board clerk is David Tillman, who was elected to the board a year ago.
Continuing on the board is Patrick Griffin and Matousek, who was re-elected by voters earlier this month.
About Luke Lough
Lough was elected to the board in 2018 and is best known in the community as a school, FFA and stock show supporter.
He is also the managing partner of Hennessey’s NBS Data Services Inc.
Lough started in the banking business in the early 1980s. He was in charge of the operations department from 1993-2005 of all the predecessors to what is now InterBank in Hennessey.
It was during his time at the bank in Hennessey when he met his partner, and NBS co-owner, Chuck Nicola of Chickasha.
NBS provides core data processing and item/statement processing services to financial operations and was incorporated in 2005.
Lough is quoted as saying they could have started that business anywhere, but decided on Hennessey because it was important to him to raise his family in a small community.
His wife, Kathy (Edgar), works with him at NBS and they have three sons: Taylor, 30, of Hennessey; Carson, 27, of Hennessey, and Garrett, 21, attends OSU.
The couple welcomed their first grandson, Jacob, March 17.
The Loughs have lived in Hennessey for 30 years and are members of the Hennessey First Baptist Church.
