Kingfisher County voters largely reflected those on a larger scale in multiple races that were decided in last Tuesday’s Republican primary election.

That includes re-electing Frank D. Lucas to his seat in District 3 of the U.S. House of Representatives.

Districtwide, Lucas received 37,153 votes, which was 73.02% of the total votes cast.

He needed just 50 percent plus one to earn his re-election.

Darren Hamilton was second in the primary with 7,083 votes (13.92%) while Robin Lynn Carder picked up 6,646 votes (13.06%).

In Kingfisher County, Lucas’ 1,984 votes accounted for 75.47%.

Carder was second among county voters and by the narrowest of margins. She picked up 323 to Hamilton’s 322.

No Democrat filed for the office, which means Lucas won’t face a general election opponent.

Lucas, from Cheyenne, has represented the third district and its 32 counties since 2003. Prior to that he was the representative of the sixth district from 1995 until redistricting in 2003.

Sapulpa’s J. Brian Bingman will be the Republican on the ballot for corporation commissioner in November. Bingman earned 126,733 votes in a three-person race Tuesday.

His total was good for 53.42%, negating the need for a primary runoff.

Justin Hornback picked up 68,003 (28.66%) votes while Russell Ray was picked on 42,498 (17.91%) ballots.

Bingman carried Kingfi sher County with 1,359 votes (53.61%).

Hornback received 731 (28.84%) while Ray picked up 445 (17.55%).

Vying for the seat in the Nov. 5 general election against Bingman will be 89-year-old Democrat Har-old Spradling of Oklahoma City and Libertarian Chad Williams, 43, of Choctaw.

The winner will take over for Bob Anthony, who reached his term limit and could not run for re-election.

Denise Crosswhite Hader retained her seat in the District 41 state representative race. She defeated Shea Bracken by a vote of 1,786 (57.58%) to 1,316 (42.42%) overall.

Crosswhite Hader got 98 votes (59.39%) in Kingfi sher County while Bracken garnered 67 (40.61%).

Only one precinct in Kingfisher County voted in this election (#105 in Cashion).
