Lucas visits
U.S. Rep. Frank Lucas (R-Dist. 3) visited Kingfisher Wednesday as part of a series of townhall meeting he’s scheduled throughout his sprawling 32-county congressional district. Among those in attendance at the Chisholm Trail Museum were, from left, Mike Sanders, Toni Pickle, Shauna Rupp, Lucas, State Rep. Mike Dobrinski, Judy Whipple and Mike Frey. Lucas will face Democrat candidate Jeremiah Ross in the November general election and is generally expected to win his 16th term in office. Republicans vote this week in runoff primaries for State Senate Dist. 26, U.S. Senate, state labor commissioner, state treasurer, state superintendent of public instruction and corporation commissioner. Democrats will vote on their candidate for U.S. Senate. A full list of races and candidates, as well as sample ballots and polling locations appeared in the Wednesday, Aug. 17, print and digital editions. Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday.
