Man injured in 1-car wreck

A Crescent man was injured Friday night in a one-vehicle accident east of Dover.

Stephen Carter, 57, was transported from the scene by Kingfisher EMS to Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City, where he was admitted in stable condition with head and trunk internal injuries, according to a report from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

The report said Carter was driving a 2006 Buick Lacrosse west on Dover- Crescent Road when it left the roadway, overcorrected and struck a tree.

The accident occurred near the County Road N2950 intersection at about 8:19 p.m., according to the report.

The report said the Carter was wearing a seatbelt. He was pinned in the vehicle before being extricated by Dover Fire Department.

The accident was investigated by Trooper Adam Post.

Also at the scene were Kingfisher EMS and Kingfisher County Sheriff’s Office.
