In response to incendiary Facebook comments posted Sept. 2 and directed at Town Administrator Tiffany Tillman, Hennessey Mayor Bert Gritz said “the buck stops right here (at this table).”

“If you want to be upset, then we’ll take the heat instead of you taking it out on a town employee,” Gritz said at Thursday night’s Town Trustee meeting. “We here at this table are the ones who make the laws.”

He was referring to posts that called Tillman a “racist” and a “nazi” after she refused to allow a double-wide mobile home to be illegally moved onto property inside the town limits by Saloman Pardo Jr.

“I called her (the person who made the posts) and told her to take them down,” said Trustee Harold Shaw.

“It was finally taken down,” said Gritz.

The board also heard from Pardo, and the town’s attorney at last week’s meeting.
