McConnell hosts Farmerettes meeting
The Hennessey Farmerettes met Aug. 14 in the home of Margie McConnell for its monthly meeting.
Paula Nicholson opened the meeting with members joining her in giving the pledge of allegiance to the flag.
Eight members answered roll call by discussing whether they drink coffee and what, if anything, they add to it.
The minutes of the July meeting were read and approved.
No treasurer’s report or correspondence was given.
Dot Miller shared information about the table setting competition at the upcoming county free fair.
Members plan to enter the competition and will be using a patriotic theme.
Photographs of the special setting were also provided.
Mary Curry gave the devotion entitled “Forever Faithful.”
Club bylaws were read and suggestions were made.
A revised set of bylaws will be voted on at the next meeting.
DeDee Krueger presented the 2025 fair book and discussed the proper way to complete name tags for entries.
Pansy Wheeler provided several items which she and others prepared for the fair as examples for members to view.
Nicholson shared information from the OHCE newsletter.
Members were asked to complete volunteer reports regarding time and donations.
Members were informed that no date has been set for Fall Council.
Wheeler was unable to attend due to an injury, so members did not complete any crafts at the meeting.
Krueger presented the lesson on “Coffee” and after the lesson members partook in coffee prepared by Krueger.
The meeting was adjourned.
Members then had coffee, refreshments, candy and peanuts provided by McConnell.
